Terrific Article - https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...-buendia-starring-championship-role-1-5941222 I’m predicting that we’ll win by at least 3 goals
Sound suspect, but it’s correct according to this: https://www.11v11.com/teams/norwich-city/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Rotherham United/ I think it’s because in the 22 match time frame, they’ve picked, it covers nine home matches and seven away in the league (going back 22 matches cuts off at half a season, and today’s match evens it up). Of the total matches, the two we have lost were both at Rotherham in the league, with four matches at Rotherham being draws and just the one win in 1967. By contrast we beat them in four out of the six league cup matches (the other two being draws) and five of nine home matches. So it’s a weird one but seems to be right!
Yes it's what the 'sexy football' is all about, as DF says, starting with Buendia: “One of our key players without a doubt but I would say one of the even bigger things for us is that our man of the match is changing every week. That shows you how many strengths we have. Our defensive players have been fantastic as well. We are scoring so many goals. I am totally happy with the whole group. It is important now we stick to our style, stick to our philosophy; that we are there with attacking football and we are the protagonists on the pitch. I want us to be brave and be aggressive." And so say all of us!
It really is a joy to watch. I'm still smiling at the LUFC fan who tweeted yesterday about 'Why can't other teams even try to beat us??' I seem to remember that they didn't do particularly well last month!!
I'm still smiling about the Leeds fan on twitter who suggested 'Norwich never seem to have any tricky games' ? WTF? I posted it on the forum but can't recall which thread.
Rotherham will be without Joe Mattock for the visit of Sky Bet Championship leaders Norwich. Left-back Mattock picked up his 10th booking of the season in the 2-1 win at QPR in midweek so will now serve a two-match ban. He joins Will Vaulks on the suspension list, with the midfielder, who has been called up to the Wales squad, still having two games to serve. Midfielder Joe Newell is a doubt with a dead leg, while defender Clark Robertson is struggling with a hamstring injury and remains a likely absentee, along with Kyle Vassell (groin) and Jamie Proctor (hip). Norwich head coach Daniel Farke, who has signed a new contract, must decide whether to make changes having named the same starting XI for the fifth straight match for the 3-2 win over Hull on Wednesday. Midfielders Moritz Leitner and Mario Vrancic are both pressing for a recall following their recent return to full fitness. Louis Thompson has stepped up his rehabilitation from a knee problem, so could be drafted back into the squad, but the midfielder is more likely to be in contention again following the international break. Forward Carlton Morris (ankle) also continues his recovery. Rotherham have won just two of their last 22 matches against Norwich in all competitions (D10 L10). Norwich have won just one of their last 11 league visits to Rotherham (D4 L6), a 3-1 win in September 1967. Rotherham are looking to win consecutive Championship matches for the first time since April 2016, when they beat Ipswich and Leeds under Neil Warnock. Since drawing 0-0 with Hull City in November, Norwich have scored in all 18 of their Championship games, scoring 43 goals - seven more than any other team in that time. Emiliano Buendía has been involved in 10 goals in his last 10 Championship appearances for Norwich City (4 goals, 6 assists). Rotherham defender Semi Ajayi has scored six Championship goals in his last nine Championship appearances - one more than he scored in his previous 101 Football League appearances (5, including play-offs). Prutton's prediction What a massive win that was for Rotherham in midweek. Semi Ajayi has been fantastic for them this season and he was brilliant again as his double sealed their first away win of the season. Norwich are flying, though. Five wins on the spin and they look well on track for automatic promotion. It's hard to see Rotherham stopping them. David Prutton predicts: 0-2
He's made noises like he might freshen it up. Will be interesting to see what he goes with. There is an international break next, for recovery.
I think they all want to play nobody wants to be dropped . I agree that if we have a 2 or 3 goal cushion with 20 mins left we should give some of the boys a rest. We haven't had that luxury unfortunately, also the first 11 are all pretty young and the extra fitness sessions has clearly given them amazing stamina going by our late goals.
The Rothers will be scrapping for every ball this afternoon. There's only one (1) point between them, Reading, Wigan and Millwall in the final relegation spot
From Flash Scores. Preview After picking up 72.22% of their league points at home this season, Rotherham (W7, D15, L15) shouldn’t be daunted by the visit of league leaders Norwich. Rotherham’s hopes of avoiding defeat are also boosted by the H2H record here, which has seen them lose just twice in the last seven meetings (W1, D4, L2). A first away league win of the season midweek over QPR means only goal difference is keeping Rotherham in the relegation zone. Unbeaten in three at home, the ‘Millers’ have opened the scoring in 11 home league games, but only led in five of 18 games at the break. With 16 of the 54 season goals seen at this stadium coming from the 76th minute onwards, no fan is likely to leave early. Norwich (W22, D9, L6) returned to the top-of-the-table after extending their unbeaten league run to five consecutive wins with a 3-2 home victory over Hull. The last time the ‘Canaries’ secured six league wins on the bounce was over October-November 2018. Nine of the visitors last ten league games featured over 2.5 goals. Norwich opened the scoring in eight of those ten matches, while seven of those goals were scored within the first 30 minutes. Moreover, Daniel Farke’s men have been winning at HT/FT in nine of their 37 Championship matches so far. Players to watch: Two-thirds of Semi Ajayi’s league goals this season have come after the 60th minute. He’s scored five in his last four Rotherham outings. Each time Emiliano Buendia has scored, Norwich have won (W6). He has three goals in his last two outings. Stat attack: Norwich hold the edge in H2Hs: W15, D11, L9. The last seven H2Hs at Rotherham have seen both teams score. Rotherham picked up an average of two bookings per game across their last five league home fixtures. Norwich score over a third of their league goals in the final 15 minutes (25/75).
