That's put me in a bad mood for the weekend. On the positive we didn't lose and can only be made easier to accept if Leic and/or Dipswitch drop points too. Bloody Friday night games!
Meslier - 5. Poor for the goal. Never really looked comfortable with the long throws or crosses. Gray - 5. A bit scrappy for the goal conceded. Otherwise very quiet. Need Spence injury free to play right back. Rodon - 5. Got in a muddle for the goal alongside Gray. Probably his worst performance for Leeds. Sloppy throughout and maybe playing on Tuesday had an effect. Cooper - 6. Goal line clearance was a key moment and pretty decent on the whole. His lack of pace was exposed late on and looks to have a hamstring injury again. Firpo - 6. Lacks match fitness but did OK. Rotherham found most joy down his left hand side but Junior linked up ok. Ampadu - 6. Looked jaded after his international on Tuesday but did OK. Not his usual commanding self and needs to thank Cooper for saving his arse with the clearance off the line. Kamara - 6. Some lovely moments interspersed with the odd poor pass or unnecessary extra touch. Summerville - 8. Obviously the most talented lad on the pitch. Got his goal but made wrong decision a couple of times. MOM. James - 6. Had some really good moments and put in a few really good crosses. Drifted out of the game too much. His effort level is fantastic. Piroe - 5. Ineffective again in midfield. Missed a couple of half chances and gave the ball away by hanging on to it too long. Rutter - 6. Assist but was clear he wasn't fully fit. Was pretty much kicked off the park. Subs. Bamford - 4. The usual array of offsides, poor touches, arm waving and poor decisions. His whole demeanor indicates he's in a bad place. Badly needs a goal to pick his chin up off the floor. His movement to find space was good. Gnonto - 6. Had his moments and looked committed to the cause. Leeds never really got the ball out to him often enough. Poveda - 5. Tried to make things happen but it just didn't work for him. It might be interesting to see more of him. Struijk - n/a. On for the injured Cooper. Should have won the game with a late headed chance. Anthony - n/a. Had the ball in the net but Bamford had strayed offside.
Beckford talks like a cnut, Peltiers tackle on James he says he went for the ball, he could of broke his leg, plus it was a penalty and sending off, sh1te officials again.
I said before the game that I didn't want Bamford at 9. However, I don't think it's a lack of effort. I think he's just completely shot of any confidence in his ability and his fitness. It's just not happening for him. He can't catch a break. He's always been a confidence player but I've never seen him sink as low as this. He looks lost out there.
It's his first start this season. He wasn't the worst player on the pitch. That's a good starting point for him. I've seen him perform much worse and Cooper was noticeably more exposed when he went off. I'm harsh but fair mate.
I was poking the bear. He was fine, just not really in the game. I’d have had Ampadu a bit lower. Didn’t commit to the challenge for the goal, fcked up and got bailed out by Captain calamity in the second. A few other sloppy moments. He’s quality and my player of the season so far but maybe his worst game for us.
Fair result so no complaints and I'd say we got what we deserved over the 90 mins. Frustrating as hell though.
Thought he was average and we missd Byram. However since it was his first start of the season we'll hopefully see some improvement over the coming few weeks.
Struggling to see any positives as everything he does seems to not quite come off and he's just not sharp enough to get on the end of things at the moment.
