Exactly the same as last week but with much better passing. Nsiala has been caught out half a dozen times. I’m not sure he can make the step up to this level, but hopefully he’s just nervous. Against a better side we’d be 2 or 3 down. Haven’t seen much from Nolan yet. Harrison has gone to ground more often than Neymar. Rotherham are offering nothing but the way they are breaking they may find a goal. Town have been decent in possession and controlled the game but we need a cutting edge if we’re going to trouble the top half. Harrison up on his own is not going to give us it.
I am hearing Nsiala covering Chambers' arse often, maybe Chambo's days are numbered. Cant afford to keep a lumberingtoken legend in such a youthful side if he gets caught out often.
Town have gone up a gear second half. But Rotherham have too. Chambers has been a rock but Nsiala has swept up a couple of through balls smartly. COYB.
Gotta work on all our set pieces, including corners. Our strongest aspect last season. Disappointed that Harrison is off.
A game we deserved something, real body blow to our early season. From commentary we dominated large amount of possession and should have nailed it with so many chances. If we aint gonna beat the likes of Rotherham.....looks a bit glum.
Damn it, that sucks. Good effort from the lads today. Nolan looks good and Jackson will probably be the lone striker if we decide to play that way, I like what he brought to the game today. I can see Ward and Skuse being replaced as the new boys adjust. There's more to come from this team over the coming weeks
Gaffer we got what we deserved. If you don’t hurt teams the inevitable happens. Jackson was out wide time and again with no one in the middle so we have to be clear we’re playing a deep 4-5-1 against an awful Rotherham side. Paul Hurst needs to play two up or we’re going to come out of August with only a point on the board.
Apart from the free kick and a one on one from Harrison we never really bothered the keeper. Mainly tame and scuffed efforts.
Unfortunately these type of results may have to be expected with the wholesale, but required, changes to the team needing to be implemented and bedded in. Sounds like we were unfortunate to lose, but for those who expect an upper mid-table finish, or even a promotion push, I hope this result underlines the need for patience. We have some tough fixtures coming on, and I’ll be there to support us on Saturday against the Villa, but I think it’ll be another few games until we pick a couple of wins.
Like I said, crystal clear to me that we needed the 2 up...from the start! And that's just hearing our radio team, who know a thing or two. Oh, well, early doors, but as you say, we do need a good win in August.
Frustrating, a little bit worrying. However, same as last week, a very new "squad", the ones with championship experience being asked to play in a very new way vs a squad that's relatively settled and have confidence, momentum and something to prove. It's looking like it will be a slow start, something will have to click before long but just as our fast start last year ultimately meant nothing a slow one this year is nothing to fear. On a side note, I should really stop following games, good things rarely happen while I'm paying attention...
