And you can explain it away if someone's leaving for a top club, or they're homesick, or something, but Wilson had only been on the job a few months, and DOF at Rangers is a lateral move at best. It's hard to imagine that the flux behind the scenes doesn't have an effect on the playing staff or player recruitment. Having worked at places where chaos and a lack of direction at the top became the norm, it filters down to everyone.
Lemina is a disgrace. No matter what the internal problems we have, there's no excuse for what an appalling lazy excuse for an athlete he has become. Our recruitment department could never have known a professional player would be willing to down tools so readily. Unbelievable.
The foreign player rule in Turkey is pretty strict and taking a quick look at their CM options and who is foreign I would say Lemina would be behind Seri and N'Zonzi so not really a surprise they want to free up a foreign player space.
Maybe being away and no HUGE clubs coming in for him (Galatasaray are a far bigger club than Saints, but I doubt that was what Lemina had in mind when thinking he would be off after a couple of years) will mean he might knuckle down and try and earn a move for the summer. A Lemina playing at his full potential is better than any CM we have currently
Maybe, maybe not. That will have to be the managers call in January if he comes back. I do think Lemina suffers from looking lazy when he plays, think Berbatov, even in his good games he wasn't busting a gut all action like those no talent "passion and desire" players. When he has a bad game it is very easy for fans to view him as lazy and uninterested.
It is also a classic English thing I think "oh the least he can do is run around loads" is a comment I hear from retired players who are now pundits.
I don't buy that for a minute. He has attitude problems, mystery illness's & just doesn't give a damn. He's the sort of player that gets a manager canned for giving him too many tries.
Maybe you're right, but there is no denying his talent and even a 50% bothered Lemina I would clasify as an asset to our current bunch. If he is only interested in himself then having a good half season with us would go a long way to securing himself a decent move afterwards. The reality is that he will probably go on loan again in January to a better team than Saints, and we hope he performs there so we can sell him.
You’re talking to Southampton fans here, you seem to forget. Our greatest ever player didn’t “run around loads”, but his effort in games was obvious and measurable in other ways. Lemina had the occasional burst of brilliance but otherwise did nothing.
I understand what you are saying. He had some games under MP2 where I thought we'd found L'pools next player, he was superb! And that's what makes this so sad, his ability is not in question, its something far more dangerous. Can we afford to add someone who clearly can't be arsed........I don't think we can.
He’s much more interested in making Instagram videos and picking up money, than playing football, sadly. He hasn’t played a game for Galatasaray yet, which says something.
Edit: apparently he has made four appearances, so I take some of that back...
If he signed on a season long loan surely he's there problem and not ours?
