we dont press high though when the opponents have the ball we might have one player trying to put pressure on their goalkeeper or defender when we have the ball at the back quite often all of the opponent's attackers press all of our defenders to reduce the opportunity to pass I know Rosie says that is the plan and it should leave space behind but it doesnt necessarily leave men unmarked when we take goal kicks we need to vary what we do depending on how the opponents prepare his point about 5 at the back is only one different to 4 at the back I dont think it makes that enough of a reason to leave one of our best players out of the side
I agree that we didn't press hard enough last season and I think I saw a stat that backed that up. Tetteh and Oscar didn't seem to have the energy to do it when I saw them. I'm sure it's something he's working on and would certainly hope that Delap and Connolly might help in that area.
It's something I've noticed Vaughan and Tufan doing very well in Preseason. It's probably why Oscar has lost weight over preseason also, but he's been hampered by his ankle so far.
Yep, Rosenior has said the same about those two specifically. I wasn't sure Tufan would be a big player this season with so many other attacking players in the frame but Rosenior is clearly very happy with him and he's as ready to go as anyone in terms of fitness.
The fact you think the analogy was literally one page per season is why i have nothing to add if you're going to interpret everything in such a deliberately negative way. Plenty of others have rightfully called you out as well but you only got in a strop over my post. Perhaps time to reflect inward on why that might be.
I'd hope so. As OLM said, it didn't seem as if you did think that, but I'm glad we're now on the same, ahem, page.
