Walter, at this stage, is the frontrunner and is understood to be keen on taking over at the MKM Stadium to launch his career in English football. The 48-year-old has vast experience managing in Germany with two of their biggest clubs in Stuttgart and Hamburg but has been eyeing a move to England for some time. In fact, Walter was at the City Ground last month to watch Nottingham Forest's 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in a bid to foster relationships in England.
It depends what you believe. It could be that Acun is happy to be patient and build over a few years. He thought he had a manager in Liam that he could do this with... Unfortunately I think what happened is Acun and Tan weren't liking the football being played. So rather than continue and be unaligned with Liam, they decided to make a change. I still think whoever comes in next will get the time they need, as long as Acun is happy with the brand of football on show.
Being in the frame for consideration doesn't mean he's considering it. I also assumed ST was joking. There is no way in hell Robins would come here. It's kind of funny how in your head I am though.
Hull City plotting new manager move for Mark Robins - sources (footballinsider247.com) Dunno how reliable it is but they've been right before. Doesn't say what the source is, but Baz did say one other candidate was English.
Baz seems reasonably confident it'll be Walter, and that he wants it. I'm sure Acun's happy to throw up a number of names he'd like, but not sure Cooper, Robins, etc. would be realistic.
the fact robins is on the radar shows there is no plan thats not a slight at him but acun watched the fa cup semi and our game and saw goals goals goals lol robins will not be coming
I think Walter will get it, which I'm fine with provided we get the players in to suit the system. Kalman will discover his own Schwarzschild radius if we get Walter and don't sign a proper defensive midfielder.
Well we'd probably pay him more than Coventry would, we have better players than them and we're probably a better bet for promotion next season than they are. It means he's on a shortlist, but I think Walter will get it.
I'm not quite sure I agree on any of those points. They have new, ambitious owners and are going to get another sizeable fee this summer for Sheaf which will be reinvested. They already have a very good squad that ran out of steam with an FA Cup Semi Final, and took a while to get up and running with two new strikers who are now settled in.
Not convinced it is a good idea to give the job to Wally if either Robins or Cooper are / were genuine possibilities. Give me experience of the league over the so called promise of exciting football, as we have heard the latter before
I would like to think that Acun is part of the team when it comes to selecting players to bring to the club.
