Anyone listen to the 1904 podcast about Tim, I’m not writing him off but I hope Tim didn’t use the pundit/expert as a reference
Struggles to unlock a defence that sits in. Doesn’t have a plan b and is stubborn about how he plays. In a positive builds good team spirit, can get fans and players on board. Not the glowing reference I was hoping for.
Also strange that on the morning we half expect him to be announced his odds are drifting…normally the other way round.
It was an interesting listen. Mind you he doesn't sound like any sort of yes man so that'll be interesting! What amazes me is how many Aussies have podcasts about 2nd tier European leagues
Almost like when managers are perceived poorly 'no plan B' is an easy criticism even if it's not always true.
sounds like we're signing Rosie - have we heard a dickie off Rosie yet thanking the fans he claimed to love
'No plan B' must be the most hack criticism of any manager. "For starters, when people talk about Plan B it usually means boot the ball up to a target man, park the bus, or both. The argument also ignores the intricacies of Plan A, which seems to be regarded as possession football as a whole and does not allow for the different approaches within it." That quote is from a 2019 goal.com article about Man City fans that were criticising Pep Guardiola for having no plan B.
To me it means, when you're chasing a game with 60 seconds to go, stop ****ing around passing it between your back 4. Controversial, I know.
How about use one of the remaining 6 players on the pitch? Jadan, Fabio, Omur, Tufan all have the ability to change a game. They can't if the ball's in our defensive third though. Doesn't have to be this illusive 6ft 10 brick ****-house target man I keep hearing about.
In that scenario, yes - you need a goal and time is running out - some teams (City included) will sometimes send a centre half forward as an extra "target" in the final few minutes when they need a goal
I agree it’s a much better tactic to run the clock down passing the ball between your defenders than to just get it forward to a big man like Balotelli to lay off to AGUEROOOOOOO.
I'm not disagreeing, just highlighting that it's funny that not booting the ball up is normally what people mean when they say 'no plan B'. Every manager gets it at said some point, and it's even a criticism that people have used with Pep.
Maybe Acun and Tan listened to it too and thought ‘hang on a minute’. Hence the lack of an announcement and the odds lengthening.
LR will have an NDA in place id say, but the players.... That depends which side of the fence you sit I suppose
