They’re all over the place, Sunderland. It’s now over 100 days since they sacked Beale and although they’ve had a lot of managers linked with them, they’re being turned down by anyone who gets to see what the terms and conditions are. According to the owner the club has a relentless demand for a high performance culture, fans just need to be patient. Most Sunderland fans I know are good lads and are very frustrated by what’s going on, but also realists who know where their club currently is and where it has been recently. Most were actually excited about Rosie taking over and saw it as a good move for their club. Still plenty of idiots about though. One comment I read about potentially employing Rosie: Not good enough for us - if he failed to get a little club like Hull into the playoffs he’s going to be overawed by the Sunderland set up and won’t be able to manage the bigger players as he’s too young and didn’t achieve anything as a player himself. Sunderland had the highest home attendances last season. They had the highest away attendances, despite having the longest distances to travel after Plymouth, 3,900 just pipping Leeds. We were 17th with 1,300. You can see why some of their fans consider them a bigger club. Some of our fans consider clubs with larger attendances than us smaller than we are.
