Funded by? Wolff and Lauda are Austrian. As close to being German, without being German. They are based in Northamptonshire largely due to the proximity of Silverstoneand the testing facilities.

It's a German car funded with German money.

The team is obviously owned and funded by Mercedes, that's why it's called Mercedes, but the car itself designed and built in England, that was all I was saying.

It's just a pity they can't build a new car in less than 6 months. Bloody stupid waiting time for a company their size.

Rosberg has fulfilled his lifelong dream , I think Hamilton has done that but he definitely moved his targets as he won his first title and is yet to reach that target.

Next season sees a lot of changes that won't make it easy for Hamilton ,
Altho Verstappen looks like he's had trouble eating a calipso ice lolly ,I love Maxs' race attitude , he reminds me of a young Hamilton &Alonso

It's not being replaced by the French GP. Hockenheim hosts German GP in even years, Nurburgring in odd. Nurburgring can't afford to hold races at the moment so it's skipping 2017 and Hockenheim don't . Hockenheim will still be holding one in 2018 when the French GP is added to the calendar.

There's no guarantee they'll even be in front with all the changes you've mentioned. Look what happened to Red Bull when the current rules came in, Ferrari and McLaren the time before that, etc.

All the talk of Max/Vettel/Alonso/Bottas to Merc is assuming these drivers think Merc will still be ahead. It'd be embarrassing for any of them if they moved and their existing team was the one that made the "Brawn GP" style transformation.

Redbulls collapse was caused by the failure of Renault to design a decent engine, the engines aren't going to be much different, although the gains Mercedes make won;t be as much as the others, it will still be better, but I do think redbull will be much closer as it's going to be more about the aero, which means Newey. I can't see anyone doing a Brawn, as that car was designed by 3 different companies and is probably the most expensive F1 car ever designed.

I hope it's at the Circuit Paul Ricard just on name alone rather than Mangy Cours.

It is, because that is the track Ecclestone owns.

Still says 2018 when I look, BBC Sport website, official F1 website. Since Hockenheim will also be hosting that year I stick with what I said. It's in addition to, not as a replacement for the German GP
