I personally think Tetteys is the better goal technically.
I disagreed with Leonardos assessment that Tetteys was just hit at goal and not precise or targetted, thats a far more fitting description of Rooneys goal and I think those long looping hits have far more to do with fortune.
Well done Tettey, along with Ollsson I think they are the two who have played at their best for the majority of games.

Fully agree. All Rooney has done is try to get it on target. It went in because the Goalkeeper went AWOL. Tettey's is a brilliant bit of technique, to hit a ball dropping from that higher first time from that far out is incredibly hard and he did it perfectly!

Both goals took some brilliant skills.
I know for sure if I went out now and tried doing the same shot as Rooney I would most definitely miss, too get the accuracy and distance spot on isn't as easy as talking about it. But as I say, both goals and also Toure goal was all equally bit of brilliance.

I just think hitting a dropping volley first time is a far harder skill than hoofing a bouncing ball towards goal from the half way line. I'm not saying it's easy to get it on target from that distance, and with enough power to beat the keeper, just that Tettey's was a much harder volley to strike and he deserves lost of praise for the way he finished it. There have been many examples of players hitting it from the half way line, most of which were better than Rooney's.
MOTD didn't do it enough justice Shearer defiantly rated but I thought Lineker was particularly dour about it, they were genuinely excited by Rooneys goal though. It's very difficult not to dislike the BBC as a Norwich fan, they don't like giving us credit and when they do there is something very fake about it.

Tettey's was expert technique, timing and precision. You have to take the right amount off the ball and hit perfectly to stop that flying miles off. You can see by the shape the ball travels Tettey has deliberately put top spin on it. That was a Roger Federer precision forehand down the line.
Rooney's goal shows great vision, audacity and is well executed. That in itself is impressive. But it's no special technique - he's just whacked it, but precisely.
Apples and pears, then, but for my money I prefer the technique goals.
MotD has long been considered a waste of time for me. Even the highlights are so lazily put together and biased I'm not convinced it's worth watching with the sound off. The analysis ranges from light to outright wrong. Every now and again it's insightful, but so few and far between. Much depends on who is the guest.
I'd rather either watch the match myself or catch some of the Sky highlights of goals and read a variety of match reports.
A bit O/T, but some three weeks ago I was driving past the cricket ground around 2pm and as I got to the roundabout noticed that the car in front of me had one of those window decoration football kit thingys in the rear window in the Norwich City colours, the car turned at the roundabout and headed towards Abington...

I agree, I watched it in order to see the Tettey and Snodgrass goals on a decent TV rather then some dodgy stream. The tone is what get's me though especially when it's something complimentary, it's very flat and fake in parts it's so obvious, it reminds me of someone at Christmas getting a present they hate or someone pretending to like people just to be polite.
The analysis is lazy in comparison to Sky, it's not informative enough, the only thing which has changed since the 90's is you don't get Des Lynam proclaiming a really unhealthy borderline stalker like obsession with David Ginola.
It was in the week, a Tuesday or a Wednesday, just wondered though, there aren't many Norwich fans round this way, same as there aren't many Ipswich fans thought it might be one of yours...
As an aside, you gonna be watching the Steelbacks at the County Ground in the T20 this season?
There are a couple of Norwich fans and I know of three people who support your lot, but I know what you mean it's full of egg chasers, London overspill, Midlands expats let's not forget the plastic Manc's and Scousers, what's left usually supports the Cobblers.
I might go and watch a game or two, might go to one of the midweek game if the weathers decent, I've heard a rumour they've done up the Country Tavern too.
Reckon 7 out of 10 Premiership goalkeepers would've saved Rooney's volley, whereas NO Premiership goalkeeper would've saved Tettey's strike. For me that's the difference.
After watching both goals a few times i favor Tettey`s goal too, you dream of catching a volley like that on the laces.

I think you'd be surprised, when the keeper get that far out of the net the only way they'll get back at all is to turn and sprint not run backwards, This means he can't see the movement of the ball in the air. Because Rooney caught it on the volley there was a massive amour of whip on it and late movement of the ball. Most keepers would have done the same thing, turned and run along the balls initial trajectory only to turn and see the ball fall into the other side of the goal, yes he looks silly but he would have looked equally silly if he had though it might move like that in the air run to the other side only to see it continue it original course.
And that's the real clincher. I hate to bang on about how much more praise is given to the bigger profiles but it seems pretty clear that Rooney's gets more attention because it's Rooney's, not because it's better.
