He had a pretty good back up option in Real Madrid though!! Rooney's choices seem to be limited to us and maybe Arsenal (who like to pretend they are in for big names but never actually sign them - keeps the fans happy at season ticket time!!). Personally I don't think he will move though.
Sarcasm not a strong point for you? When Real needed a new manager, they got Anchelotti, when Chelsea needed a new manager they got Jose, when Bayern needed a new manager they got Pep. When United appointed their first manager in nearly 3 decades...they got the man Spurs didn't want a year ago. I think you're worried....
TBH lads, IF you managed to sign Bale, Cesc and Fellaini, they just as well give you the title for next season already. That would be the best midfield Utd have assembled since Giggs Keane Scholes Beckham
Can't people realise that Moyes has been groomed for the Utd job by Fergie for a long time? I said three years ago that he would be the next Utd manager
Question for some of the Chelsea fans, why do you think you can have Rooney for such a low price when United know full well how stupid you are and of course, how incredibly desperate you are for a striker? Reports suggest we've told you to come back with £80million. I think for Chelsea thats a fair price. You paid £50million for Torres, who wasnt as good as Rooney is and wanted out more than Rooney ( one handed in a request ).
Where has it been said we think we can get him for cheap? You have been spouting utter bollocks about prices this entire thread as if you're 'in the know' or representing United. We know full well United aren't going to let us have him for peanuts. Reports haven't suggested £80m, they suggested £28m and then his wages over 5 years costing £52m. You really do believe the gossip column far too much.
I know you're being stupid but in case you are serious... Torres had to hand in a request becuase time was running out. Rooney still has weeks before this window shuts to see how things pan out. I believe Rooney wants out just as much. Torres had more time left on his contract and was being bought at the last minute in the mid season window...so was at a premium. However don't let his form for us cloud the fact he was one of the best strikers in Europe for a while and in a world where Ronaldo costs 80 million and Kaka 55 million, Torres 50 million between rivals, mid season was not out of the question. Has he lived up to it...of course not but neither did Kaka, Veron and many other big name signings. If you actually think 80 million is a 'fair price' you are ****ing loopy. Falcao cost 'only' 50 and he's probably the best striker in the world at the moment. As for the price we've actually bid, none of us know what this was. Don't believe everything you read in the papers. And as for being 'desperate', Torres, Ba and Lukaku will do us fine if need be. If we were desperate, we'd have met the clauses for Cavanni / Falcao.
Spot on. Jose has also said Rooney is our only target, so it's clear we're not desperate for a striker.
So you're fine with the 3 you have? So why is it Rooney or bust? Strikes me as desperate. The £80million things a rumour from the tour Drogs, apparently an off the record remark, its basically just a way of telling Chelsea to **** off and i was winding you Chelsea lads up. Worked
hats because there are no others left. Lewandowski is staying put and going Bayern next year which leaves Rooney. thats why its him or nothing, because you have no other options. I suspect United are well aware of this. My honest thoughts are we will hold out for £40million + and wont sell until we have who we need first. The bigger our signings, the better chance for Chelsea.
I am. Of course I'd rather a world class striker in place of Ba or Torres but the three we have are fine. Not sure what you been by why is it Rooney or bust though? Not wound up in the slightest mate, just thought you were talking about that mirror/fail (same thing really) story.
I agree. But doesn't mean we're desperate, we have the numbers and I think the three we have can do a job between them. Much rather Rooney of course. Agree with bottom bit too, unless Rooney hands in a transfer request which saves you a lot of money regarding his loyalty bonus, then I think he's ours for £30m.
