well durrrr. This is silly. Rooney will leave Utd, he has burnt all his bridges now with his behaviour and Moyes pretty much ensured Rooneys departure with his thoughtless comments about Rooney. He will have to stay in UK because, lets face it, can you see Rooney abroad, the guy struggles with English, let alone Spanish or Italian. The only clubs in the PL who could afford the price and wages of Rooney are Man United, Man City and Chelsea. Since City have shown no interest this summer, Chelsea is where he will end up. It will be for cash and no players, but wont get wrapped up until middle of next month, I expect the fee to be around 30m. Either that or Utd keep an unhappy, stroppy kid on their books. Why not fob him off on to us and cash in. He will be worth less next year if he doesnt play this season and with a year less on his contract
he did worst last time and remained at the club and was more than happy.. we are in no hurry to sell him.. show us some real cash and he is yours
I think 30-35m is the highest we would probably go to be honest. Maybe with other performance or appearance related bonuses. He obviously wasnt more than happy, or he wouldnt be asking to leave now. Plus it is worse this time because this is the second time he has done this. Coupled, like I said, with Moyes' brainless comments, I dont see how Rooney staying will be viable. Unless Rooney wants a move abroad and someone like Real come in with a stupid offer, or City re start their interest, Chelsea are the only option of selling him. You could keep him, but I really dont see him playing under Moyes....not now. I dont particularly want us to sign him either, its a gamble for us. Will he be the 2011 Rooney or the stroppy, unfit, injury prone, toys outta the pram Rooney. He could end up another Torres
I think Moyes' comments were far from thoughtless. He put a great deal of thought into them by letting Rooney know how important he is to the club ie not an automatic pick. It's now up to Rooney whether he wants to fight for his place in the United team or put in a transfer request and forego 20million pounds in wages. I doubt Rooney was expecting Moyes or United to play hardball with him. If Chelsea don't come up with the right money then he's ****ed as there don't seem to be any other suitors. Chelsea will have to pay big money to get a player who wasn't good enough to be an automatic starter for a team already a level above them.
i will sell him for 35m .. regarding Rooney future with UTD, well given his u-turns before, i will not be surprised if he did another u turn
When have you ever known United to do that to a player who wanted out? Especially one worth so much money. When Beckham wanted out, he got sold. When Ronaldo wanted out, he got sold. Utd will hold out for a fair price, as they should and have the right to. But I think their fair price and yours may be a little different. 35m for a want away player is a decent return. No one is going to pay you 50m for Wayne Rooney, not when his position at Utd is untenable.
You don't have to pay 50 mil we don't have to sell. I think your mistaken over what happened with Beckham, and Ronaldo did want out so we held out for 80 mil and he left the country.
£35million would be a great price for us if he puts in a transfer request as United will save £20million on paying the balance of his contract. It would also be a fair few million more than we paid for the player who is keeping him out of the team. The same happened with Beckham and RVN. Ronaldo agreed 12 months in advance that he would leave if Real paid £80million (that's £80million) and United didn't have to pay the balance of his contract. So in answer to your question when have United done that, on both the examples you cited plus RVN.
I think your right about Beckham, a quick search seems to support this. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/6926984/David-Beckham-wanted-to-spend-whole-career-at-Manchester-United.html As for Ronaldo, he wanted to leave a season before he actually left but was persuaded to stay. In essence, United only sell when it suits them to sell. Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney leave, but I'm confident that Moyes will understand that if that's the path taken then a big signing is necessary.
And when Heinze wanted to go to one of our main rivals...yeah, remember how that one worked out? Utd is bigger than Rooney, and we will happily dump him in the reserves or send him off overseas for less money rather than sell him to a title rival. That's just how big clubs think
I would be most surprised if Rooney was sold to the Chavs . United would rather lose money on the **** rather than sell him to our rivals. It depends on Jose. How badly does he want him and whether he is willing to offer more than Mata or Luiz. I think Moyes might consider the sale if BOTH were offered rather than just one.
i gave you this the other day and you mocked .a lot didnt even know who ed woodward was.and i didnt mean the equalizer or the whicker man.how old are the united fans on here come on old boys ,get with the computers.its the future.
You told us Chelsea were going to make an offer, reportedly including Mata or Luiz, in part exchange for Rooney in July and Utd were going to flat reject it? That's pretty much exactly the opposite of what you said...
14 points and one major trophy above you. Or are you level with Swansea cos you got one win in 4 against them and both won a secondary cup? And you must be a country mile behind City with no wins in four. Let's not even mention Southampton, no wins in two against relegation candidates. Let's ask Jose: "The most important thing in football is to be the best team in the season and try to win your domestic league" Thanks for clearing that up Mo
So United have dumped a player in the reserves and not played him rather than sell him when he wanted to leave? Utd dont play those stupid games, they are Man Utd and they will sell him and move on, and probably still win stuff, because thats what they do. You are making the club sound vindictive and childish!
