England will be annihilated anyway. Going without Rooney just means it's more likely to happen in the group stage, rather than against Spain, Germany, Italy or the Netherlands in the QF.
Rooney is always a let down for England. He was ****e at the WC so why would he be any different this time round. Time for someone else to make an impression - perhaps Sturridge, Welbeck or Johnson...
I know, which is why I wouldn't care if it had been another player with a 3 game ban and dropped from the squad. I think the England squad is so interchangeable at the moment with no one really shining tbh and there are a number of players who can perform similar roles with similar amounts of success.
