Yup - still haven't come to grips with being charged for air and water at service stations - all free in Oz, well the part I come from anyway.

And grapes - they're about half that price in Oz at the moment, and that's the out-of-season price.

There's not that many left though - receding into the hills I think. And to be fair, I've never experienced the "..beat England at anything.." thing - a bit of a one way street I suspect. I think it was replaced years ago when the realisation hit home that, in sporting terms, they are simply superior.:)

1. I think this has been said before but BT or Deutsche Telekom call centres.
2. Trying to book rail tickets online from the German railways.
3. German government officials.
4. Germans trying to be funny or polite (Neither works).

Can we have as may goes as we like? Got another one from last night - overweight women who get aggressive and abusive when you offer them your seat. Pregnant women must despair of idiots like that as it's not exactly encouraging people to give their seat up is it? Say nothing, smile sweetly and be grateful someone's offered you a seat you ignorant bint <steam>

Pretty well all the above, barring the cat litter tray- ours are very good and just go outside- usually in next door's garden, I think.

Add:

Middle lane drivers on motorways. Late at night, nothing much on the road, scooting along the inside lane at 70 plus a bit for luck- there he/she is coming up in the distance. Middle lane, 60mph, teeth gritted, frown of concentration. Is he/she going to move over or do I have to move all the way across to the outside lane? Nope, no movement. Rigor mortis has set in, I think. Bah!!

Plus: people who keep their diaries on their phone/i-pad/blackberry/ psion organiser. Trying to fix up next few meetings (rehearsals, usually, for me). Those few of us still using traditional pen and paper are long done and dusted, then we get the usual chorus of "what day are we talking about?" "Which month?". Then we find that no, turns out they can't do that, they've got a dental appointment or something. Bah and double bah!!

Agreed on both counts!

I had to use an organizer at work, so the PAs could schedule appts. so the snr mngmt said.. and I once made a training day for my team and put the wrong year in.. they were all there I was in another town <doh> .. good outcome though ;)

  6. Drivers who drive under the speed limit in dry/good conditions
  7. Managers who have no experience of the job, but insist their way is always best.

Thats just to name a few.

May be going to ruffle a few feathers here - sorry if that's the case, but why is driving under the speed limit a problem ? Also, in wet conditions people drive slower and, because they are closer together, there are more accidents - in dry conditions there are fewer accidents but with more fatal consequences - which raises the question - what are 'good' driving conditions ?
 
A real pet hate of mine, made much worse by "text speak" and using fewer characters on twitter, but it really steams me up when people use "of" instead of "have" as in I would of.... or I could of.... God it pains me just to use it as an example! <grr> <steam> <grr>

Feel free to ruffle. I mean that if its a dry, clear day on an A road or Motorway what is the point of doing 50 or 60? Or even less, I have come across some twerp doing 40!! on the M1. Its very dangerous as people arent expecting it and as they slow people behind them jam on their breaks and cause accidents. There is a reason farm traffic and other categories of vehicle arent allowed on motorways and its because they are too slow!

Not true here sunny summer conditions people obey stupidly slow speed limits , in winter snow and ice they all turn into speed freaks ,its frightening . last year in rogaland 87% of accidents on the roads were under 30 kmh , thus leading me to believe going slowly is bloody dangerous.
