I think Messi is easily better than Ronaldo. Ronaldo is just obsessed with scoring goals for himself while Messi scores goals and acts more as a team mate than Ronaldo does. Messi also performs in big matches where Ronaldo always goes missing, he is devastating against average or crap teams but in big matches he does not perform. There are also faster footballers than Ronaldo, look at the Man U v Inter match where Santon had Ronaldo in his pocket, Ronaldo could not beat him for pace. Messi might not be the fastest but his agility and close ball control is mind blowing.
 
I don't get these comments saying the only reason Messi does so well is because he plays with good players. Unlike Ronaldo, Messi plays the 'barca' way and is rarely selfish. This is what makes him the best in the world. Just because Ronaldo might score 1/2 more goals a season than him doesn't mean he's better cause all round Messi is undoubtable the better footballer.
 
According to the documentary, he could last 3.65 seconds alone in the company of Tiote. Roughly 0.34 seconds more than the average man. He really is a cut above

Still makes me laugh that people try to say Messi is only considered the best because of the team he plays in.

Do no-one of you see some of the goals he scores for Barca, taking on player after player with ease? That has nothing to do with his team. Why does no other player for Barca perform at his level or score the amount of goals he does? It's such a ridiculous argument.

It's stupid deciding who's faster on this video -

1. Because one race isn't enough to decide.

2. Because it's only a distance of 20m. Sprint speed doesn't come into play until further on in a race.

Acceleration and sprint speed are two different things. Maybe Balesteros is faster off the mark, but in terms of sprint speed, we can't tell by this video because the distance was so short.
