How is the net spend a million? Kenny was an exceptional player but he's an average manager. His first stint at Liverpool was success based around an excellent inherited team. When that team faded away he signed David Speedie and then quit. In all honesty I think he will walk in the summer citing that he has achieved his objectives ie a trophy and stability. He won't fancy the owners' demands of at least a top 4 finish next season.

The 4 players you mention cost about £15million all in after you'd sold Mascherano for about £20million. Hodgson had no money to play with. I don't know about the refusal to slag United off but if that was the case then maybe he thought it wasn't advisable to have a pop at us after Rafa had done so and made a bit of a tit of himself.

The net spend is taking into account the money saved on wages. Plus the money for Torres, Meireles, Babel etc.
fergie took six years to win his first title, Kenny has had one, and has had to clear up the mess left from the H&G era. So far he has done alright. The future looks bright for us.
His net spend isnt a million. It is some creative accounting done by the scousers. It means that they lowered their wage bill. So they are saving money over the next 5 years (in theory) because of this. However they still spent loads of cash and got worse (lol). Their net spend is huge. Their wage bill has decreased int he short term....and thats guess work.

On chelsea. I feel sorry for AVB. You should of stuck by him. The players forced him out. That was excusable a few years back but it isnt now. Frank, drogba, cole, terry = not that good anymore. You do need to refresh the side. I dont envy the next guy to take the job. He will have the same problem as AVB. Biggest mistake in chelseas recent history to sack AVB imo.
