North, that is a short term view. TF is taking the long view and (gambling) that Hughes' win rate picks up to average or better with better resources and backing of the board. I agree it is a massive risk and, of course, if we lose to Reading (again!) I dare say time will be called. Just a little bit more time might see this situation fixed.
I'm of the same view as TonyF, in not wanting him sacked and wanting him to sort it. But on the other hand I have no faith in him, and think his managership since he has been with us has been woeful. It's an interesting conundrum!
I think conundrum is a great word to describe our situation. "Any puzzling question or problem; an enigmatical statement." The online OED. Enigma is helpfully further defined as a puzzling or inexplicable situation. We have long debated the various reasons why we are where we are but 'The Answer' is not immediately clear. For TF the answer appears to be to stick with Hughes so that is all we can do too. A win against Everton would calm so many nerves and soothe away many anxieties!
