I'm not sure what it is but I'm not warming to him either. I think it might be that he's too media savvy and just tows the party line. In comparison to Lando who just seems so much more friendly and likable.
He is being a good corporate chap whereas you want to see him fume at the mistaken direction of the Merc design. He has learned to be patient after a longish spell at Williams. I think we all want to see a 3 or even 4 horse race, looks like we at least have a 2 horse race this year which is better than the last few years. I am personally quite happy with the potential championship contenders this year, Charles, Max, maybe Sainz. Can't include Perez as RBR would never allow him to be a real contender. I like the new generation and their hunger for success. It is nice to have a break from Lewis although I would be content to see hm get that 8th before he retires although I won't worry if he doesn't. If he does eventually get it, it will mean more as both he and Merc will have had to work hard to obtain it.
what was entertaining about it? Most of it was just everyone holding station due to drs trains as there is only one place in the track to overtake.
George is from Norfolk, carrot cruncher land, so he basically has no personality, just Like Nigel Mansell.
For no personality, I've never seen a driver stir up so such emotion and passion. Even the Italians loved him. No driver since Mansell has made me so excited to watch them drive, and I doubt he'll ever be matched in my eyes. The man was pure drama, no matter what he raced. I miss him! Okay... Fanboy moment over.
George, let his racing do the talking, that is where it matters. If it rains tomorrow I suspect it will mix the feild up a tad.
What a golden age for Formula 1 that was.Our Nige,Prost and Senna.V12s and V10 engines making glorious sounds. One of my favorite moments was the closing laps or the 1990 Mexican GP when Mansell went round the outside of Berger on a right hander at about 190mph !! to regain 2nd place behind Prost to give Ferrari a 1/2 finish. The commentary was always excellent too with Murray and James talking with sensible voices, non of this insane screaming by that lunatic Croft.
Why did we toss it off with the sprint race and qualification actually a couple of hours later than we’re going to start the race? The race starts at 2pm but quali started at 4pm and the sprint race at 15.30? Conditions/track temp are completely different to when the race is going to start.
I would love to know I can only assume that either; A) they had to fit fp2 in and do that before the sprint and then give the teams time to get the car ready. Or B) liberty are training us to get used to later races cos they want the move the time permanently to make it better for yanks. For me having races at 4pm or 3pm = fair risk of not completing a race but most importantly they are going to clash with majority sport like football and kill the golden goose Liberty had better not be trying this on cos frankly f1 is still Europe and they will kill it
I’ve got a good day of sport. The F1 GP, followed by the derby and stuffing Fat Frank and then Hull FC v Catalans.
Looks like a wet race here so anything could happen. Main issue for me is csr recovery taking 5 laps each time.
