I read only 2 things into that non statement

- Muir IS only the front man for a multi investor consortium

- they are still...14 months in to this boring saga....short of the cash

 

Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

 

There must be a very strong likelihood now of Duchatelet still being our owner at the start of the season.

The nightmare scenario - a current owner who won’t invest and a new owner that can’t invest.

I foresee a season of struggle ahead.

And can you answer the two questions about the Aussies.

- are they short of the money - you must have raised it on your ‘beer night’ ?

The Aussies making the statement today was just a coincidence, I just got lucky.

It sounds to me as though some will not believe anything that is made public about this take-over.

This is a joint statement from CAFC and the new investors.
It isn't a tweet by some bloke claiming to be ITK.

Because I spoke to one of the people last night as they were writing it. Unfortunately I didn't discuss the finances because NDAs wouldn't allow it. All the stuff I posted was non business related for that reason. Frustrating for all of us not to know anything. And yes , today's statement was very bland, but at least they haven't pulled out.

 

Pretty pathetic to see you back in default mode on CL - slagging our forum off again and playing the victim.

I just don't get this.

After months and months of virtually nothing, we finally get an official statement drafted jointly by the Club itself and the new investors.
The statement says that a take-over is proceeding and its completion is expected.

I would have expected many Charlton supporters who want Duchatelet to sell the Club would be happy to read this news, and be optimistic about a new future. But instead we seem to have little but ridicule and cynicism regarding the Australian Consortium - to the point where they are seemingly being painted as worse than Duchatelet before they have done one single thing.

I do not know, but I hope and believe the majority of Charlton supporters will not be feeling cynical, or want to shoot down the incoming administration before it has even completed the take-over.
I think they will be willing to support the new owners even if the beginning of this season is disrupted and our promotion chances are damaged or even scuppered because of the time the whole business is taking.

Well said. I think we are lucky that they've stuck with it for so long, when many others wouldn't, and some apparently haven't.
