Well as FHB stated a date, then I will put my neck on the block and say 30 April 2017. I think Belgium tax year is the same as France 1st January to 31st December. Tax returns have to be in by 30th April in France.
The whole takeover saga is so tiresome. Not even the most craven Apologist can have missed the message in the Times RD comments
"Beware of false prophets" "A little learning is a dangerous thing" "Empty vessels make the most noise" off the top of my head
Just a thought. The rumours are that the developments at Sparrows Lane are non existant. So the Lookman money, if that's true, has all gone to Roland. All of it. If he's selling up, why on earth would anyone expect him to reinvest in the squad with any money he may make selling off Konsa (or whoever). KR would do well to consider this before hawking our young stars around, as the squad will only get thinner unless RD is gone when the transfer window opens, and the incoming owners have cash to spare after shelling out well over the odds for the club. Simply the idea that his dealings with Charlton are all but over will probably mean we can expect zero investment from here on in, unless it be the likes of Leon Best. A new owner may decide to try and see this season out before investing in the squad. Nothing is decided yet but as it stands, I expect to see nothing but damage in january.
The SR’s of the world will argue that he hasn’t pocketed it, but offset the deficits that a relegation brought on (same thing in my eyes). The Konsa argument is one of the key factors in the takeover talk I imagine. Right now the squad will hall a value - let’s pick a number, £10M (hypothetical). If RD then decides to cash in on £5M of that then the purchase sale should reflect that, but further mitigating circumstances would be the money received not being part of the club, re-investment to replace players sold, and all the while whilst the squad is weakened (albeit temporarily) the chances of promotion reduce. I imagine that would cause a problem. RD would best be served selling the club as it is IMO. No idea how he’ll try and claim back his losses, this is purely talking about the playing side.
Roland is so arrogant that he could well expect that if he sits tight long enough someone will come forward with an offer which matches Roland's valuation. That's my concern, because meanwhile the value of the club will go down the longer we stay in L1 and the more debt we build up.
It will be interesting/scary to see how it plays out. It was widely reported he did his own DD when purchasing the club. I wonder how much his valuation will differ from those that get to the stage of doing their own DD.
The general assumption seems to be that Roland is expecting to recoup all his losses in this sale. Frankly, I cannot see how that will provide a realistic sale Price, so a buyer would either have to: a) see a long term potential b) be planning to dismember the assets to recover the buying Price c) be phenomenally bad at maths and economics d) a member of Roland's family Only a) would be in any way desireable, while c) would give a certain continuity.
e) Roland could snuff it and then the club would be offloaded for "anything" as it will be all profit for his heir(s)
