I took it as a remake due to the wife & child at the beginning, it was alright, nothing spectacular, kept me entertained for a while, nothing more.
I seem to remember that they were flashbacks that set up his PTSD if we are talking about the same thing. Its one of those movies that was just supposed to be some good fun, so if it entertained you then it did its job.
I liked Star Wars 7. If anything it was crazy similar to a new hope. It was never going to live up to the hype but there wasn't much more that they could've done to get close too it
I really don't understand the criticisms sayin it's not as good as the original trilogy when it's pretty much episode 4 in a fancy dress. It's a great film and it does well to relaunch the franchise and sets up an exciting new trilogy. I didn't mind the prequels tbh (except phantom menace) as at the very least they explain why anakin turned to into Vader but the new film is right up there with the originals, especially as it's pretty much identical to a new hope
I'm too old and knackered to climb trees. I have however just got back from watching this. In 3D. Had read no spoilers. ****ing great film.
What's pointless about it? You might as well say any film is pointless if it isn't a reinactment of real life. Sci-fi is class. I've always been more of a comic book fan myself, less so now I'm a fully fledged adult but I still catch up when I get a spare moment between teaching and football. Plus, after numerous threads on cricket, tennis, speedboats, motorbikes, formula 1, things that happened before the 80's, flooding, people dying, sheds, gardening, darts (DARTS, for ****s sake) and so much other off topic ****e, it's finally nice to get an OT thread that I'm genuinely interested in. After Falloutgate, it's nice to see you haven't derailed the thread. Anyway, just seen the new Star Wars, I enjoyed it for the most part. Wasn't a fan of the 'comedy' moments and it was odd seeing Matt Parkman flying an X-Wing, but I enjoyed the film nonetheless. Also the guy that plays Kylo Ren needs a serious testosterone boost, he looks like the love child of Alan Rickman and Keanu Reeves.
I just watched this film, worse star wars film by a long way. Love all the originals, even enjoyed the prequels (except episode 1) but this one was a load of ****e. Words cannot explain how disappointed I was by this film.
This is pretty much how I felt. Saw it on Sunday, it was alright, maybe a 7 out of 10. I don't think it was even as good as episode 3. Thought Adam Driver was good like, but I'm a big fan of Girls.
You like them, I don't if everyone was of the same opinion then the world would be a dull place. I didn't like comics either, or 'Graphic Novels' as my Brother in Law calls them. Merry Christmas
That's fine, I'm not saying you have to, but there seems to be a fair few who put scorn on such things and then say that's the right way to be.
Not a patch on the original 3. However it is ok as a film. That Kylo Ren character is no Darth Vader either. The next Star Wars film is already in production and John Boyega who plays Finn starts working on it in January he has said.
They've already started filming in Ireland, Mark Hamill was in a pub there last month or October I think it was!
Okay so which episode is this based on the storyline? The evil organisation is chasing plans across the galaxy that the rebellions have. The plans are hidden in a droid who escaped capture and finds himself on a desert planet with a human. They are about to be captured but escape the planet. The evil organisation destroys a planet. The rebellion blow it up
