Sign to great fanfare of "England international", 'play' for two seasons max*, leave under a cloud, say it wasn't his fault in an interview then repeat with another club.

* The only exception was with us, presumably because it would've cost too much to set him loose.

He re-writes history to his own narrative! The narrative is "poor me".

****ing arsehole he is, I hated him at the time but he has given serval interviews now where he blames everyone but himself.

It's bad enough how he was considering he was one of highest earners at the club and is a millionaire out of the sport but to still think he was a victim?

The clubs, the managers, the fans, he was forced out, he had a really really really bad blister on his little toe!

I assume from those stats he isn't even a regular in Australia ffs!

It's a far cry from leaving Sunderlamd and putting the nightmare of his unfair treatment behind him and getting more England caps to make his son proud!

Everton must have been thrilled for the money from City. Then City found some chump to off load him to... wrong place, wrong time to have £10 million burning a hole in our pocket. Dear me, the wages as well.

I'm delighted we have moved on about 100 light years from this sort of stuff.

He couldn't get in our under 21s today. He is a stain during a dark time of the clubs history. He'll forever be known as a "what could've been" player. Its no coincidence he seems to do ****e everywhere he goes. We forked out 10 million for him at a time when that wasn't to be sniffed at, so he can't say he didn't just stay for the "moneh". Its last word on him because we're a better club now and I'm sure he'll be OK financially, but what could've been will probably haunt him. onwards and upwards for us.

It will only haunt him if those interviews he give are an act. If he genuinely believes what he says it won't haunt him because he will tell himself he put everything into his career and was held back by others!

The ****ing arsehole. I need to stop commenting and looking at this thread. I get too angry <laugh>

Millions would have given everything they had for his opportunity and he simply couldn't be arsed.

What makes it worse is the **** will be a millionaire several times over.

Hopefully he has himself an "accident"

i wonder how many of those appearances were as a sub, he learnt the art of being a well paid sick note at man city then enhanced his skill of always being in a position that no one could pass to him while here.
