I absolutely am not. I even said in my post "early days yet could become good". Here and now- based on this season so far- Downing is better than Borini. Borini may improve.
He keeps saying we haven't replaced the players who left this summer. I find this quite annoying. The only first team players we lost were Kuyt, Maxi and Bellamy and we have signed Allen, Sahin, Assaidi and Borini. 3 out 4 in... If we sign any more players we need to clear some out or we will have alot of unhappy players about, he seems to want a huge squad but I'm not sure its needed without champions league football. As far as I can tell we already have 2 players for every position. Dont see why we need another signing unless they are top drawer.
I would guess we will see as many leave as we will see come in to the club in the next few days. Works for me if he is moving out players he feels are not up to the job!
Indeed- I don't feel we really need Adam or Spearing or Cole. Of the three I imagine Spearing is on the least wages- and still has time on his side to continue to improve somewhat- but I still think we can part with him to bring in fresher meat.
Hopefully we can shift Adam, Cole & Spearing for around £10mil and then spend on an out and out striker and possibly a versatile defender, someone that can play CB & LB would be handy.
Can see Spearing and Adam both going,Cole will be more difficult to offload.Pacheco could go too as could Carroll, but Carroll wont be going anywhere unless we bring in atop number 9.Can see that keeper from Wolves signing too, think Doni and maybe Brad Jones will go, in fact Im not even sure Doni has been training, could still be in Brazil,if he is he wont be gettin paid as he will be breaking terms of contract
I suspect if we lose Cole- we may find ourselves continuing to pay part of his wage for a while... sadly that's just how it is... but cutting some of it can only help.
If Joke Hole is the t'riffic honest good lad that people say he is he'll take a pay cut to play football. Sitting on our reserves bench is not getting him back in the England squad is it?
I think so far Downing has been better than Borini. Adam would not have been a stellar pass master... so yes, glad he wasn't there.
Spearing, Adam and Cole offer nothing in what we're trying to do and should be moved on. They are simply not good enough. Some people may say the same thing about Jordan Henderson. I'm not one of them, that kid is going to be an exceptional footballer, he's like Lucas, he's going to develop into a fine player.
Why? Don't you agree- Downing has not been bad so far this season? He's not been great... but he's not been too bad.
Dont mind i guess if downinig stays...Just to see if we get a reaction from him sitting on the bench, it might be the making of him....I hope!
I would be quite surprised if we got £10M for the three of them. If all of them are to leave, Adam would go for around £5M, Spearing for £2.5M (Rumours of him to Bolton state they have offered £2M and we went £3M) and we won't get a fee for Cole. I suspect we would all let Cole leave on a free if we got rid of the £90,000 a week wages. Though there were rumours I saw today that Q.P.R were considering offering £4M for him. It was CaughtOffside with those rumours so it won't happen.
