Rodgers vs The Committee – Is It Only A Matter Of Time?

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Jimmy Squarefoot, Nov 3, 2014.

  1. They often arrive with mercenary reputations too though. Tevez and Mascherano didn't exactly with this view lol

But yes, usually have lots of passion and fight. Comes from having to fight their way to get where they are. I also believe this is partly why the England team are suffering. Kids have things on a plate nowadays so there is little passion, respect or pride anymore.

true... scrappers out of coutries where 50k a week is as much a pipe dream as 50k a year or 50k a lifetime are the hardest workers.

nothing wrong with a mercenary who'll earn thier wages whereas a spolit brat on 70k at 22 and havd 5k per week at 17 doesn't know that the F work is... they can't

For every South American player that's been a success there's been plenty more who have flopped, Alves, Robinho, Baptista, Jardel, Kleberson, Gilberto, Veron, Jo and Crespo to name but a few.

The ones that succeed are just better players who happen to be from South America, there's good and there's crap, same as from anywhere. It's akin to saying all Africans are fast I.e. Baseless and borderline racist.

    also true.

there is a case that could be put that germany were awful and after 2000 started properly coaching and developing players and look at them now.

I'd love our manager to be able to spot a man who'll put it up and give his all and not bullshit that he can when he signs aspas who ran out sulking or markovic... character... i ask you...

Suarez wasn't a mercenary nor Lucas or Coutinho - our S Americans

I do know what you mean but as mito says, if they're going to be money grabbers anyway, I'd rather those who put their shifts in while taking it, than those who don't - not mentioning any names <whistle>

The best managers are extremely thorough in their assessment of a player, and are as interested in their attitude as much as their ability. It's key, same as it is in any walk of life.

Yeah that's the one I was thinking of Nacional. Comolli set up a link with them didn't he looking for the next Suarez - got to laugh. Coates came from there I think as well. <laugh> Definitely would be having more links in S America though, we need the 'next Messi' and we need him NOW! <laugh>

  13. True. It could be applied to every nationality, race, etc too. The success rate isn't great as a footballer in general.

I didn't think anybody would be so naïve as to think every S American footballer is great, I never said it or alluded to it. I think that continent produces the very best footballers, who unlike Europeans, [the only other continent in contention] seem to have more passion, fire and zeal for the game. I would love us to tap further into the S American market, let's face it we've done Europe and it's not working out too well <laugh>

EDIT - not saying you're naïve btw <ok>
