A week before he left he told swans fans he wouldn't go there as it wouldn't be fair on us. Then when a serious offer came in for him he didn't even have to think twice. At the time I was a little pissed but I understood that he made a simple mistake of speaking to early so didn't hold it against him. I don't think everyone would have been so forgiving.
Now that's an answer. Yes, I agree on that, swans-m. He definitely said the right things and was applauded for doing so. Then all of a sudden he was off. That could be it.
I remember a few of us/you lot - I don't comment to much but shared the sentiments - were all praising him to the gods that he had a bit of loyalty about him and declared that he wouldn't leave us for another club. So then when he did just suddenly up and went it left a sour taste in our mouths. It's crazy, I used to enjoy listening/reading his interviews as it was always positive things about our team. But since that interview, nearly every single one after that I have found myself screaming at the screen just telling him to shut up! It's all still about our team but not in the way any swans fan would like it. He does need to learn to keep quiet on a few things or else he's gonna end up getting caught out big time when the media turn on him. Look whats happened with andy Carroll, an utter shambles.
