I can't see him taking his spot though. I would imagine Allen and Lucas would be the deep players and Jonjo would be more attacking, where Gerrards plays. So he would have as much of an opportunity in a 433 formation whether Allen comes or not. I would rather we pay up the extra cash and have them both here. If he goes on loan then I guess he will benefit from more 1st team football.
Im not bothered about the price for Allen....I just think there are other areas of the squad we should concentrate on before cm.....
Also the way things are going we are going to be one of the shortest sides in the premier league, which means hoofball sides will have a field day against us.
As I said before, rodgers is the expert and ill trust his judgement, but just very unsure of what is going on.
Bluff, we don't want Rodgers to "pull the big names". Marquee is not where it is for for us. We need keen young and eager players who have shown the skill potential that can be grown by us. It's evolution time for us.
Plus thats the Man City route, I think its more satisfying when you mould a team and make them into superstars instead of buying a team of superstars.

We are not asset stripping when we can point to at least 11 youngsters who we are proud to have developed and are either in or on the fringe of our squad. You should look to your own club and asses the desire of your management to hang on to their own players. If it was not Liverpool who are looking for even more talent then it woud be other premiership sides. If your assets are not secured then you have to ask yourself why.
We don't have to pull the big names but for me, Gaitan and Ramirez are big enough names that if we can't get and they go to SPURS or Newkie then that is a problem. I know we can't get Aguero's for example but a young eager player like Muniaian, can we get him? We shall see. Those are who I am looking at.
And what if the player who was injured was a famous diver and pansy known to go running and crying when he's hardly been touched?

All Rodgers brought was his contacts at Chelsea, Reading and Watford which allowed us to sign a couple of boys who were capable of scoring more.
