There you go DR, posted on the 26/6/14 Just an opinion, but maybe Suarez planned the bite in order to profit from the outcome. and before you say that's crazy, consider the following. 1. By making the 3rd offence of biting, in full view of the worlds cameras, he achieves world publicity, which forces FIFA to ban him. In reality, that ban is only going to include world cup matches, which he knows Uraguay are very unlikely to win it. 2. His 2 goals proved he is a top class player, so clubs with no principals would be more than willing to have him as a player 3. Despite Liverpool defending him over the last biting ban, they also made it clear to him that any future actions that bring Liverpool into disrepute would not be tolerated. 4. He is fully aware that Barca and Real Madrid are both interested in signing him, but the price Liverpool require is excessive, but the publicity from the bite episode will devalue that figure. So with a reduced figure, either of the Spanish sides would have no problem in signing him, despite his reputation. 5. His father has already stated his desire to play in Spain, and all the publicity about the biting gives clever little Luis another excuse to blame the media in wanting to move away from the premier league. 6. Liverpool are in a dilemma. If they keep him, they run the risk of being hounded by the English press, but if the sell him, the fans won't forgive them So there we go, maybe the obnoxious little rat planned the bite anyway. After all, he has plenty to gain from it.
I remember the thread, my brain still remembers things just about. He was tapped up before the WC by Barcas president own admission. The end So he wasnt trying to increase his chances, if anything he couldve damaged them
Barcelona have admitted they persuaded Luis Suarez to quit Liverpool for the Nou Camp BEFORE the World Cup finals. The 27-year-old Uruguayan striker insisted a month before the tournament in Brazil that he was staying at Anfield: “Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen to me. I’m very happy here and my family is happy here." But Barca president Josep Bartomeu has now said in the wake of the £75million transfer: “When we approached Suarez, it was before the World Cup. We told him that he had the right age. He had the experience. “Playing at Liverpool gave him incredible performance and it was the right time for him to come to our club, to Barcelona.” The comments confirm our revelation last month that the wheels were in motion before Brazil 2014 for Suarez to move to Spain. Bartomeu told CNN: “We knew from of lot of years ago that Luis Suarez likes our club, likes our city [his in-laws already live in Catalonia]. "And we have the advantage - his agent is Pep Guardiola’s brother ... He’s from Barca in his heart, also, so everything was perfect and created the perfect atmosphere that Luis Suarez accepted.” The Spanish giants' president also maintained that at no stage did they ever consider not signing Suarez in the wake of his bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup saw him banned from ALL football activity until late October. The suspension is the third of the former Ajax hitman's career for biting opposing players, but Bartomeu said: “We didn’t rethink this decision and we told Luis after the bite. "He knows he did wrong. He apologized. That’s very important for us. "That means he knows that he did not do things properly and of course, coming to our city, coming to our club, there’s going to be a way of managing Luis Suarez.” --------- So tell me how him biting someone was 'engineering a move' On 2 nd thoughts dont bother you boring YMB
That story makes it sound even more likely. Suarez decided before the WC that he wanted out of Liverpool. Suarez knew he was Liverpool's only good player and that they would never want to voluntarily sell him. He also knew the fans would turn on him if he tried to force a move against the wishes of the club. Suarez knew FSG and Brenton were getting tired of his antics and he was on a final warning. Suarez decided to push them over the edge with another bite, thus ensuring he would get the move he wanted. Can't say I personally believe the whole 'engineered the move' story, but your arguments don't really disprove that theory at all.
I think we can all agree, that irrespective of whether his bite was premeditated or not, he's a prize ****
