Yeah..agree. I like the idea of any ex players starting their coaching career at the bottom with us, especially if we've a very good manager and experienced coaching team in place to learn from. If they turn out good enough brilliant they can advance upwards but not just for the sake of it.

There's plenty of ex players to go through to see if we can find excellence but if not...
There's one in situ - bet he's sweating on his future at the club.

Sakho signed new contract 18 September, just after the losses to West Ham and Man Utd so that period marks the beginning of the end

The next game was Norwich where Rodgers changed to 3 at the back which probably sealed the deal for FSG (wasn't what they'd discussed and recruited for in the transfer window)
I agree but that's not the committee fault - they don't buy players for random positions. They're told to find players based on managers requirements I.e position.
Err bit of a contradiction in these statements.

Rodgers wanted to play 4 at back with Gomez Lovren Skrtel and Clyne.

Moreno Sakho Toure back up with Can as an alternative option.
So the commitee decided to have only 1 back up FB to replace an 18 yr old CB .
you can't have it both ways the commitee must take as much blame for our shambolic (and expensive) transfer policy as BR - whilst agreeing he had to go if only because the constant speculation just damages the atmosphere at the club never mind the constant chopping & changing

The committee didn't decide to have 1 back up FB. Their job isn't to manage the squad and identify gaps to fill - their job is to identify players for specified positions.

They're just a team of scouts.

A team of scouts.....<laugh> Ayre, Gordon et al are about the last people in the world we should be employing as fekkin scouts. In all seriousness I could pick a better scouting committee from the fans on this board.

Just to put it to bed once and for all, taken from the Echo today:-

Rodgers was the driving force behind signing the likes of Borini, Allen, Lallana, Lovren, Lambert, Ings, Milner and Benteke. (James Pearce)

Rest of the committee key for the likes of Sturridge, Coutinho, Sakho, Can, Moreno, Alberto, Aspas, Markovic, Origi & Firmino (James Pearce)
That is ****ing worrying if true! I would say only Ings has been remotely successful from Rodgers' picks, although Benteke and Milner may yet do and I think Lallana would do well under a better manager.

If the other players were determined by the committee, I don't think Klopp would have a problem with them doing all the leg work and approaching him with names. They're all young and talented apart from Aspas but even he had a great season in La Liga and was cheap so a good gamble.

If it's true... Rodgers only got one transfer right. Ings.

Committee signed most of our best players. Although they only had 50% success.

Ings is a solid back up player at best though. He would never be starting regularly for utd, city, chavs or Arsenal

Of the six people on the committee, only two are scouts!
