He has actually gone!

Wow that was actually a bit of a shock to come this early.

I thought it would have been drawn out for a while longer yet.

Feel a little for him but it just hasn't worked out and its run its course.

There was a report this morning that LFC had rented and furnished a flash house, Southport way for the new manager, but I thought it was a wind up, clearly not.

I think Rodgers started going downhill after he left his Mrs and started shacking up with the younger bird.

Liverpool Football Club has announced that Brendan Rodgers will leave his post with immediate effect after having his contract terminated. The process to appoint a new manager is underway.

The Northern Irishman joined Liverpool FC in June 2012 and helped the club mount a memorable title challenge in his second season, as well as helping to develop many exciting young players. LFC's ownership have paid tribute and thanked Rodgers for his contribution.

In a joint Fenway Sports Group statement, Principal Owner John W Henry, Chairman Tom Werner and President Mike Gordon said:

“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brendan Rodgers for the significant contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment.

“All of us have experienced some wonderful moments with Brendan as manager and we are confident he will enjoy a long career in the game.

“Although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch. Ambition and winning are at the heart of what we want to bring to Liverpool and we believe this change gives us the best opportunity to deliver it.

“The search for a new manager is underway and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner.”

They;ll surely interview 12 managers over the next three months then go back to the first one who knocked them back. Have they sacked the 'Committee', I wonder?

Look, Rodgers was simply out of his depth and out of ideas with us. He had a brilliant season in the middle and I do credit him with getting the most out of that team - not simply that Suarez carried us on his own - but he'd lost the plot when he didn't have Suarez and Sturridge up top and couldn't manage Gerrard effectively, probably because he was so young and inexperienced and in awe himself. Nothing against him. Good bloke, just not ready.

Good news all round.

Smart money is on De Boer. Hopeful money is on Klopp or Ancelotti.

Rodgers must have known before the game today that he was a goner. He will get a few million as a pay off so I won't shed any tears.

At least if it is Klopp coming in he will have time to work with the squad and sort out who he wants to keep before the next transfer window.

I hope Rodgers gets a job before January then he can come and poach Lallana, Lovren, and Joe Allen.
