If you're going to turn it around, starting with a team you should beat is fair enough. Our weaknesses in defence were still exposed but like all teams not quite good enough as a whole getting our best striker back has an important effect.

If we can keep Sturridge fit and put a string of results together all well and good. But the concern is still there that we are relying on an injury prone striker to win us matches after bringing in half a dozen strikers over 3 years...

While he still here I can't complain if BR gets the wins we need. That's his job.

Did anyone see the story that Klopp would only take the job of 1) the committee was dissolved and he had control of the transfers and 2) everyone in management was behind his appointment as it looks like there are currently two camps in the FSG/Club hierarchy. Could be bollix but at least it's what must of us want if a manager comes in.

Not heard that either <ok>

not heard that one frank.

doesn't one point contradict the other? ie if he wants the committee dissolved so he had total control, the only ones whos approval he would need it from from would be the owners, so who is the management and 50/50 split malarky? people on the committee he wants rid of anyway?

A committee and board of Directors is two very different things.

I'm talking about the performance. Numerically 2 is close to 3, but in the performance there was only one team in it.

The [HASHTAG]#rodgersout[/HASHTAG] brigade seriously need to sort their story out whether they care more about results or performances, especially yesterday when we had both
I don't pretend to speak on behalf of others ( those you label the [HASHTAG]#rodgersout[/HASHTAG] brigade).

You make the classical mistake like many predicted of shouting the odds after just one win against poor opposition. Just like you ask people to wait before passing judgement why don't you use your own counsel and wait until we have had a run of good results in the next few weeks <whistle>

Also you make the assumption that we've made our judgement just based on the last couple of matches. Some of us have assessed the last season and the beginning of the seasons as a whole rather than individual matches AND looking at the future direction of travel. Can we really see Rodgers challenging for the title this season or next? Or at best will he just manage the club into 5th or 6th as would be expected by spend etc? To really challenge for the title we need IMO a better than average manager and I am afraid rodgers isn't one. <ok>

Sorry, astroturf, I agree with this.

Well the calls for Rodgers to be immeditely sacked were noticably far quieter after Villa than Carlisle, so if the decision was already made by the [HASHTAG]#rodgersout[/HASHTAG] fans based on last season then they are quite inconsistent in communicating it.

If you don't think Rodgers should have been given any slack last season for the Sturridge injury, the situation of Gerrard imploding which any manager would have struggled to handle, the blatant committee buy of Balotelli, etc. then fair enough.

My position is last season and the season before should be ignored, and let's just look at this season with a clean slate. But actually give him the season then not just knee jerk.

I don't want to say it's all fine now based just on Villa either but that's in response to the absolute [HASHTAG]#meltdown[/HASHTAG] people were in after Norwich and Carlisle.

I do get this side of the argument to be fair.

Dont get me wrong, if he was sacked right now and klopp or ancelotti were appointment immediately I would be all for it.

But I do think BR has had a tough time of it over the last couple of years with the gerrard situation and the Suarez and Sterling ****.

I think the majority of us agree we actually have a good squad of players now and like it or not we have a lot to bed in again. the situation isn't quite as bad as is being painted and things change quickly in football e.g. Win a few games on the trot and it looks very different

I agree. In fact I think you should all start a petition to save Brendan and I'm sure I can muster up a few United fans to sign it as well

Maybe you should organise a plane to fly over Anfield [HASHTAG]#speciality[/HASHTAG]

Don't think Balo was a committee buy, he was the only striker of international quality that actually agreed to sign for us. Everyone else said no.

Or at least that's what gerrard said in his new book, that it was a gamble that Rodgers agreed to and told him about.
