Given the kopites are finally starting to wake up to Mr Clever being a complete fraud, I thought it's the right time to start a thread to map his progress to the inevitable boot.

Shall we start with a month prediction? I'm going for May 2015

If he misses out on CL football after all that he has said about spending big money and missing out on a title challenge "Doing a Spurs" the writing could be on the wall.

He has now spent big money and looks like he is on track to "Do a Spurs"

His minimum I would guess is a cup or CL, deliver neither and he could be joining Moyes on the golf course

May 2015 is about right. The owners aren't going to accept finishing outside of the CL places after finishing second and handing him £100million to spend. They're not stupid and will realise that the club cat could have managed Suarez and co to a second place finish and wouldn't have wasted so much money on mediocrity and Balotelli. The real worry for David Brent is that the team are gradually getting worse with each game.

He's a teflon character and as soon as results start going against him, he starts distancing himself from the blame, throwing assorted players under the bus, as he sees fit. It was mad mario last week and today it's sick note Sturridge.

I can see him losing the dressing room if the poor form continues for much longer.

All his hopes for the season rest on Sturridge getting back an repeating his form of last season, something he has never done before - back to back goals scoring seasons.

He backed Mario, then said his transfer was a gamble in teh press.....how will that help motivate a player.

He has tried to ship out Borini and he held firm......Got Lambert for a plan B, then never uses him. never mentioned Henderson's cheating dive against Hull, desperate times for the saviour of premier league football

Yep, without Sturridge fit and back in top form they've got very little, which is shocking when you consider he's spent well over £200m in 2 years.

No wonder he's only renting a gaff..........

    No, he's actually spent more.

He's brought in (on permanent and loan) 25 players since he arrived and inc loan fees has spent over £220m gross.

£00m net, you could buy a full first 11 for less and still beat Hull.....at least his record with developing/introducing young talent is still going stro....

I am thinking any manager can spend £200m, but not many spend it wisely<ok>

Will he be put under further pressure tonight in the League Cup? It could have been his best outside chance of finally winning something<ok>

If they get turned over tonight, it makes Saturdays trip to the Toon a massive game for Mr Clever.

as after that they've got Madrid away ( pass me the lube) and then Chelsea at home.
