Everton didn't do to bad in the end did they though? They could be up there scrapping around with that top 8 again. We shall see. It will be interesting and good for the league to have so much depth.

everton have an excellent basic team guys. jelavic is good, naysmith adds and option for nothing, they've got a midfield 4 and are strong at the back... all in all i think they just lack depth.

  3. Naysmith may not be an option for "nothing" yet, that is for the courts to decide <ok>

we'll certainly see but in the end rangers are busted and the guy has rejected a move to the scottish div 1 or 3.... the scots have really wreaked their own league and revenue streams by doing what they did and rangers would only end up selling them anyway.

  5. I have no doubt Naysmith will remain with Everton now, but if the courts rule in favour of the new Rangers company then compensation will have to be paid. I'm sure this will be calculated using Naysmith's salary at Rangers but I wouldn't imagine it would be loads (although, that could be a lot for Everton <laugh>). I personally think the courts will favour the players anyway <ok>

Rangers are better off starting all over again, they would go straight through the divisions because the best players for each of the division will want to be for "Rangers"...<ok>

i'm fairly sure naysmith would appeal as the company rangers no longer exists ergo he rejected a contract from ranger newco... this is a test case and shows the depths a club could sink to... if we saw lfc go down our players could all have gone....

IMO BTW, ranger should apply for english league.

  7. If they had to start from the Scottish third division then maybe you're right. Mind, they'd have to start even lower in England, they wouldn't even be allowed to enter from the conference <yikes>

no but you know... the scots have seriously wreaked their own league.... if rangers "applied" to the english league then they could in theory be admitted.

so scotland admitted clubs like caledonian thistle a few years ago... the are going to decide where to admit rangers who could still easily survive in the prem... thier sponsorship and tv deals are hanging by a thread...

If the english league wanted they could admit rangers to league 2 and take the pain cos the tv money gain could be big.

  9. I agree. Despite these debates in the past saying that both Rangers and Celtic would only be mid-table or championship level at best was purely based on their playing squad at the time. They both have the stadium and supporters to be a force if they were to be in one of the top European leagues such as the Premier League.

yup, i think the scots have been hugely short sighted and some prem clubs could find themselves seriously in debt come the nest tv deal... who wants a one team league
