I worry at potentially losing a good manager, of course.

We've been amazing for just over a year now, but he still has some way to go as well. Touch wood things are looking very positive though :)

I agree, to anywhere in England, but if someone like Barca (who are struggling and fit his philosophy) came in for him would you expect him to stay?

Now I know you'd love to believe that Rodgers is a secret Fungus acolyte but your wrong. What Rodgers did was assess the players that he had at his disposal and come to appreciate the pass and move style that had always been the hallmark of Liverpool play since Shankly's days. I doubt he even gave United a thought as he adapted his plans.

Dave, sorry if i came over wrong, i did NOT want to say he copied Fergie. The point i was trying to make is the in England fast attacking (counter attacking when needed) has been the best option for a long time, United were the obvious example as they have been at the top for so long but most of the other successfull teams have played this way.

Brendan has learnt this and had the sence to adapt.

Rodgers for me has been an astounding success overall. But breaking it down, peeling back the over-achievements of SAS and a good dose of luck, I see it thus:

    Fantastic job in:

    - man-management
    - youth-management & growth
    - attacking tactics
    - pleasant, relaxed, conducive atmosphere
    - gentleman and ambassador of LFC values

    Great job in:

    -Motivating
    -Picking first teams

    Ok, but can improve

    -transfer market dealings
    -second half tactics
    -defence

Which is what I was getting at

I think Barca appointing BR is absurd though tbh, but those have been the rumours. Hence my 'not since Rafa have we had a manager who might be poached by someone else'

I truly believe BR wants to be here though and build something special, he wont be leaving

It looks like I misunderstood your original post. So I am pleased to inform you (without even a hint of sarcasm) that you are totally right! <ok>

Barca was the top call i could think of who may be in the market at the end of the season  still if Brendan keeps it up for another 4/5 years it could well be feasable.

  10. I guess only he could answer that. Right now, I think he would be silly to leave but then, as you've already pointed out, that was the situation for him at Swansea too. The difference is, Swansea didn't give him a platform that would have enabled him to win a lot of trophies whereas Liverpool does. Obviously, Barca would offer the next level up; domination.

  11. I thought Liverpool appointed Brod two years ago was absurb too.

Why would he take that job though? He can't buy Borini, Allen, or Assaidi for two windows! :bandit:

I saw Klopps name bandied about but he just seems the opposite of what Barca "are" if you will. He is rock and roll, they are opera.

Totally dfferent situation though, Barca are expected to win or finish 2nd in the league + get very far if not win the CL

When BR came to us we'd had 2 cup finals but we were very far off the leading pack in the league
