i still think he is first choice and so do the papers and the bookies, so until rodgers comes out and category says that he will definately be the swansea manager next season then what are we suppose to think. nobody knows so why dont he come out and squash any speculation once and for all instead of using words like hope and so forth.....
If he does come out & say " I'm not going anywhere " , & he does go because the opportunity is to great when offered , then most people will hate him forever around here Lol !.
I agree with cracker, there is nothing for him to say, how can he say he is not going to spurs when there is already a manager there ? He is not making the same mistakes as martinez
And today there is an article in which Rodgers says Swans will be ok when if leaves. So Spurs are supposedly after him, Rodgers hasn't denied it, the story has come out about possible compensation and now Rodgers talks about life for the Swans after he's left. Why all this talk if he's definitely not going. I think it's probably too early in hos career to be managing Spurs. They will want success and failure to finish in top 4 will see him sacked. I think he'd be better sticking with Swans for a few seasons to get a bit more experience and then go to Man U when Ferguson retires.
thats my point casual, the words coming out of brendans mouth is that he is going, why the hell dont he just come out and say so, all this crap he is saying is not doing any good, i would rather him say that i will take the spurs job if harry goes and it is offered to me and if i dont get the job then im staying and wont take any other offer unless its a big club. i would respect him more than what he is doing now and indicating that he is going but not actualy saying he is. i dont expect him to go until the end of the season anyway but he will lose a lot of respect if after we play our last game of the season and he leaves the next day and leave us managerless where we may have a short time before we play in europe which we are in with a chance of playing....
I don't understand what you want the guy to say, redknapp is still at spurs how can he say he is going if there is no job to go to ? As for the story today, that was in the original interview on swans player, nothing new there just the bbc trying to put more mileage to an old interview.
No I don't superswan, and you are not being clear what you want from Rodgers, I get the feeling you want him to go for some reason. Why don't you ask spurs fans what they think on this ? Surely they will know far more on what is happening at their club.
" The words are coming out of Brendan's mouth that he's leaving " ..Those words are coming out of your mouth 99, not Brendan's . Everyone & there dog is talking about him leaving , he's just trying to explain the what ifs if it ever happens . As top clubs take a look at the possibilities of landing his services , and he has a clause that he can leave if the right offer comes in that works for him & SCFC , do you really think he's going to throw his " Big Time " chances out the window to appease us by saying " I'm not going anywhere "....... hardly !!
im not saying he is leaving at all.....im saying that brendan is pussy footing about confusing fans with his choice of words. its funny how we are losing games ever since this topic of the spurs job came up. i think brendans mind is elsewhere and that could get us relegated still....
Brendan;s pussy footing around what everyone else is saying is more like it 99 . He's not going to throw his , possible , bright future & possible only chance to run one of the biggest club football team's in the world , if they come knocking , to commit to us to keep Swan fans happy . Try to remember that others are stoking the fires on this , not Buck , he's just walking a media tightrope .
I hear what Super is saying. Rogers' comments have softened somewhat from his categorical denial of any interest in Chelsea a few weeks back. I find his latest statements unnecessary, hedgy and suggests the laying of some groundwork for an exit - especially his comments about life at the club after he leaves - there is too much present tense in that comment. All he needs to say when the persistent little media idiot raises the topic of Spurs once again is "I have no comment when there is absolutely nothing to comment on - next topic" ... or something along those lines, with the same degree of abruptness that SAF would have when he tires of the media's bullshit. He could then spout his usual blarney word "fantastic" along the lines of "life here at Swansea is fantastic" ... and we'd all be happy.
Big difference in saying " not interested " to the Russian at Chelsea , than possible considering a Spur's offer . Rodgers knows Chelsea well enough to know expectations from managers' at the club dictate little chance at any chance at all . He'd have a far greater chance at any of the other top teams to establish himself , that's why he had a bit of a laugh at the talk of him going to Chelsea IMO . If Rodgers does go anywhere this summer , the only thing I will feel toward him is gratitude for time spent with the team & the money we'll get for him . But until it happens I don't really care what media , pundits , fans or Brendan says frankly .
But the truth is it's all conjecture based on a long string of IFs. So why waste everybody's time by saying anything at all. IF Harry goes to England. IF Spurs don't want Mourhinho (or vice versa). IF Spurs come calling. IF Spurs meet whatever the buy out is. IF Brendan likes Spurs' offer .... then HJ will just trot out a press release along the lines of "Spurs have made an offer for Brendan, which we have dutifully accepted, following discussions Brendan has accepted Spurs' offer. We are sad that Brendan has chosen to leave, but this is a part of football. We appreciate and thank Brendan for his contributions and we wish him all the best." There will then follow the usual ****-you fest on this and other boards, which will subside after 4 or five days when we will all turn our attention to reports of Mourhino being sighted at the Morgans. At the end of this season one of two things are likely to happen .... Mancini will be fired for not getting the title and Mourhinho will be hired to replace him .... or Harry gets the England job and Mourhino replaces him. Mourhino's contract is up at Madrid, there has been nothing I've heard about it being renewed. He will have won La Liga, Serie A, Prem League and Champions League titles, what is left for him to do. If he manages City he could really get the goat of SAF by winning the Prem next season. If he manages Spurs and takes them further he'll be giving it to Chelski. He likes the Prem - he is likely to be back sooner or later.
where does that leave the fans then not knowing what is happening, there will be fans that wont be happy in buying ST's if he leaves the day after we play our last game when all the time he knew he was moving on, i hope he gets the job and i think he will but let the fans know or tell the fans he dont know, he is doing neither....
Where does it leave the fans ? Exactly in the same position as before, supporting the swans ! The club is more than the sum total of one man! Where were you when Martinez left ? Or when Sousa left ? Or any other manager left the club ? Are you a new fan or something ?
