I had one last December, in the groin area. Had to be a GA one because it was too big for a local and had to cut through intestines, and build a "wall" across to stop it recurring. Nurses came to visit every day for injections, clean up and redress. Only recently got the feeling back so I'm assuming all the nerves have knitted back together
 
Mine wasn't as bad as that Ron, in & out in six hours, internal stitches then stuck together with glue, it's the pills I am taking for seven days 18 a day & no alcohol, the nurse told me no lifting more than 2kg for at least a week, it's beginning to drive me a bit mad, with the wife telling me you can't do that
