We finally get a couple of younger players with promise and they are dispatched to the ether. Disappointing is an understatement.
Leadbitter and scowen on the bench so maybe fall out not too bad. Disappointed not to see diamond especially as he missed u23 match as well so can only.presume he is injured. Doesn't look like a team to impose and attack to me but hope I'm wrong.
I'm not disappointed to see Scowen dropped as he has been quite poor recently but I would have played Leadbitter although his legs might need a rest. Yeah i'm disappointed not see at least one of the young lads involved, I would also have had Kimpionka on the bench, lets face it Grigg and Graham are pretty similar. Sanderson is always going to come in if he is as good as we hope he might be, lets hope he is genuinely fast, we were told that about OBrien but we haven't really seen that pace yet.
Pressed home instead of away by mistake, but with my prediction record I think it could be a good sign.
I've got a beautiful little niece I've never met because of covid, she's 2 in February and I had planned a trip back to Durham to meet her and see all my other relatives but I keep having to put it off. I'll get there one day and you will see your little 4 year old grand bairn also when it's safe to travel. I get loads of little videos and lots of pictures of all her little milestones, first tooth and first steps were my favourites. I've took this thread further off track so I'll predict a 2-1 win for the lads and for my niece Harlee-Marie. Ha'Way The Lads.
Any XI we put out with this squad will make for dire reading, and I can understand why people get annoyed, but thats just our squad What really annoys me is, we are in League One, we have 7 subs.....7!, a club of our size should always have a few young lads on the bench Picking players just because they are senior pros and you don't want to upset them on the bench, is totally unacceptable Its no surprise Donald is flogging off all our youngsters, they dont see any path way into the team at all, because there is none. I suspect we will draw or probably even win tonight, but it won't stop me being disappointed about how we treat, and develop young footballers at this club There isn't a worse club our size in the country for it.
Its a waste of time playing Mclaughlin as a wing back. He's a defensive rightback, he hasnt got the legs or the attacking ability to play that role. Diamond should have been given a chance and him or Gooch could have played that position.
Sounds good, yes at times it is good to have g'kids living with us. But my son us a single dad... often at work and second time round at 67 its a bit knackering and noisy.
I dont get all the pre-match gloom from fans b4 we've kicked a ball. Ok we've no pace but hey, i've seen plenty of headless chickens with pace at Safc who were fkn hopeless.
got to assume Diamond is injured with this team selection. McLaughlin off for Scowen (if winning) or Grigg (if drawing or losing), with Gooch moving to RWB, is nailed on.
I'm looking forward to a Sunderland win with a glass of rum beside me ... ... simple pleasures for a simple man.
