Accringtons match at Portsmouth has been postponed, so Manager James Beattie has managed to get them all tickets for the Southampton v Burnley match instead FREE....
Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY5m #lufc Cameron Stewart deal to Leeds is very close according to BBC Humberside too. Confirms what McDermott said yesterday.
More likley to confuse our own team. Can't work out who is playing where. If Pelts and Pugh are wing-backs, is Byram playing an attacking or standard central midfield role, or roaming, or a man to man job on someone? It could work, but it could bomb badly
Formation might confuse me as well Elland. Great touch by Beattie. If the Stewart deal is done, what would our stongest line up look like (assuming no additions for now)?
I love Brian McDermott simply because he sees only the next game and he wants to win it, every time. Right mentality!
Thats probably why he is trying it against Rochedale. To be fair though he has been playing a similar formation, he changed to it at half time v watford I think and then definitely played similar against Blackpool in the first half at least with Austin being on the right and Ross on the left with Smith through the middle. He said in an interview that he changed to that formation against Watford and it got me thinking why he would put Austin out wide, seems to really waste his main attributes imo. Byram would suit it better but either way it is a very strange formation which I don't think I have ever really seen utilised the way we do before.
Is Stewart a winger or attacking midfield. Could he replace Austin in centre of midfield. Maybe Zuliukas Captain?
One game at a time was his mentality when Reading went on that winning spree a few seasons ago and got promoted
