I don't wish to criticise Powell too much considering how well we're doing this season but honestly;

A) Why couldn't Hughes fill in at RB?
B) Why play the best LB in the league at RB?
C) One change in the back four is bad enough, so why make it two by switching Wiggins to the other flank?
D) What is the logic in putting a left footed player at RB?
E) Why is our best winger being moved to the left flank?
F) What is the logic in playing said right footed winger at left mid?
G) How are we supposed to play smooth football with a left footed LB playing behind a right footed (make-shift) RM?
H) How are we supposed to play smooth football with a left footed (make-shift) RB playing behind a right-footed (make-shift) RM?
I) How are we supposed to dominate the pitch playing Pritchard and Evina in the same team?
J) Why was there no 'back-up' RB on the bench?
K) Why take off your only goal-threat after 65mins when he's been the most dangerous player on the pitch?
L) Why replace that dangerous player with Leon Clarke?
M) How are two big target men supposed to help us score a goal? They just end up playing head-tennis to each other!
N) Why the **** did we even sign Leon Clarke? He's one of the biggest donkeys I've seen at the club since we've been in this division.

On the plus side, Kermorgant is a God, his free kick was sublime and I love his new song.
 
Not a happy bunny tonight. For the life of me, I don't see that we are that short of players that we need to play them out of position to field a starting eleven. The spark has temporarily died, and we need to re-ignite it quickly, but we'll have our work cut out against Stevenage.
 
Agree it was stupid to boo. We had aproblem with Solly being ill just before the match and cp over adjusted. Not the end of the world but we need to get it right for St Evenage boys club visit on Saturday.
Didn't have time to boo or argue with those that did, had to get to the M11 before they closed it off last night.
 
Rule 7: Hamer needs to go to the Eddie Stobart school of logistics - distribution has to be to the right destination, but more importantly on time not when the doors have been closed.

I must have been at a different game, nearly every one of his kicks was right onto Yann's head, exactly where a goal kick / drop kick should go. His distribution could be quicker to the defence, but the players dont turn and face quick enough.

Hamer's kicks are awesome. End.
 
Hamer's kicks are hit and miss. Some games he doesn't get his length right, and I think he would admit to that. Last night he wasn't too bad though.

Do people think wagstaff has it in him to cover RB? Or he is he not strong enough? His main attributes being stamina and pace aren't a bad foundation for a RB. Wiggins played well, but you really want him bombing down the left.
 
It's frustrating, drawing with bury/tranmere/rochdale. 3 points from that fella's... Now we have a stiff stevenaage followed by chesterfield. 6 points would calm alot of people, steady the ship atleast.

You werent at a different game and you have made my point. He was behaving like a one trick pony only kicking out to find Yann and the time he took to do it meant that Yann had three defenders on him. There were occassion when he sought out Yann (particularly late in the game) when Wagstaff was clear on the right and begging for it. His decision making was one tracked and slow last night.
Earlier in the season his distribution was to right and left as well as central, throwing more and kicking less. Yes he is accurate but the time he takes to decide where to put the ball enables the opposition defence to get back and regroup. Faster thinking and variety of delivery methods required.

I was thinking the same thing if we had paired him with Green last night it would have made an interesting interplay on the right side of the field. However It would have meant both of them getting back to cover which Green isn't the quickest at, relying normally on Solly to save the day. When it was Waggie/Solly pairing, you would often see Waggie providing the cover in defence as well as Solly providing the availability in attack. Still, it was an option that should have been considered.

yep, we were too slow on the break. every piece of defending by us resulted in us passing back to hamer, while the rochdale defenders repositioned themselves for another predictable attack. we used to be good on the break....

Waits for players to get into position (@ 30 secs);
Kermi goes to West Stand touchline @ 5 yards into opposition half;
Hamer hits high ball towards Kermi;
Opposition have tallest centre Half behind Kermi plus midfielder in front of Kermi;
Opposition full back covers behind their centre half in case Kermi wins ball.

That's how it will work on Saturday..... just you watch <ok>
 
I'm really depressed this morning and I wasn't even there last night! I have always assumed over the last few months that we would click back into gear but I'm beginning to wonder now whether we will or not. Am I imagining things or were we quite good earlier in the season? Or have we in reality flattered to deceive all along in a shyte league? I know we all like a good moan but this is the first time I have been genuinely downtrodden this season. I can see us losing a pile of games on the trot now, I really can. And if Clarke is the future next year then I'm seriously considering whether I want a season ticket!!!!!

I need to cheer up. We are top of the league (but for how much longer?)

All Hell

I hope not and that cp will read the riot act since we have become as you point out to predictible. Hamer also appears to have moodies I have noticed. A couple of games back he had an arguement with Solly over something and then didn't throw the ball out to him for the rest of the match even though the guy was in space and the right wing looked a good option. Obviously Kermit is his favourite but sometimes it has to be that Green or Wagstaff, possibly BWP or even a throw to wiggins Solly or the midfielders would be a better option. Bythe way this is not to knock Kermit who is a class above and sometimes manages to win the ball against incredible odds.


If we are that predictible then surely
 
Utter dross last night.

Why take off BWP? Yes, he missed a few chances, but for the first time in weeks he was getting in the right positions.

Hamer - 6
Wiggins - 5
Morro - 6
Taylor - 6
Evina - 4
Green - 3
Stephens - 3
Hollands - 3
Pritchard - 5
Kermit - 9
BWP - 7

Waggy - 3
Clarke - 2
Cort - 6

We would have been better off playing three centre-backs, with Waggy and Green playing as wing-backs and sticking three in the centre of midfield.

Rochadale had 54 away fans. Counting them was the best entertainment after Kermit's goal.
 
Wasnt able to listen to the game last night, but checked the score after 70 mins to find it 1-1.
Every team has its down-time during a season - if we win on Saturday, then it will all be ok, and back on track - dont worry.
 
Subbing BWP could be the biggest mistake of the whole season for me - it made no sense and will have repercussions.

Clarke just looks absolutley ****ing gormless, did anyone see the way he stood there waiting to come on?
