Another good away day out sadly none of us can go to. Goal fest more than likely against a gung ho home side against a Charlton defence that you could fit a 53 bus through it. Both teams to score and over 4.5 goals in the match
We have to go on a run now. Need 6 games unbeaten, at least three of them wins. After 26 games we currently have the same points & league table position as we did under Karl Robinson in 2017-18. I believe Robinson was sacked 9 games later, when we had won only another 11 points. Charlton need 15 points absolute minimum from our next 9 games in my view. That's a tough ask. But we've run out of wriggle room now if we want to finish in the top 6.
Actually fairly down about this one. I saw a quote from Bows this week which in broad strokes said the player rotation will continue snd while our mediocre form probably comes from a mix if causes, good performances seem to lead to ayers being benched next game. I hope we put out a strong squad, and go for the win, but we seem defensively bad so I'll predict a 2-1 defeat, and hope my guess is wrong.
It's standard form to watch the opposition, Curbs used to do it. If we'd done it better the first time we played Milton Keynes we might not have let Fraser run the show. It can also help spot the opposition's weaknesses. You always want a settled back 4 though, and Pearce's shakiness has not helped. It's not the tactics that bother me, it's the mentality. It doesn't matter what formation you play if the players are playing with fear. It's not a pretty sight when you can sense that players are hiding, although if you are actually there rather than watching a screen you can get a better idea. We only seem to play with freedom in short bursts, but with Millar, Stockley and the Swindon guy whose name I can't spell that should change, and Sandgaard will demand it I think.
I think we have to be positive now. No wriggle room left - we go on a run beginning with a win at Rochdale, or hopes for this season are almost dashed. Let's smash them today, and feed on the momentum.
Amos; Gunter, Oshi, Pearce, Purrington; Shinnie, Pratley, JFC, Millar,; Aneke, Stockley. Hope to see at least 30 minutes of the new winger. Bowyeris already getting dog's abuse for this selection, but I'm glad he's brought Pearce back, might get some sort of order in the back 4.
Stuck in Sainsbury’s car park at the moment - a lot of finger tapping going on and starting to twitch a bit - what the fuke is my good lady doing in there!
