Couldn't agree more. If we had the makings of a winning team RvP would be most unlikely to leave. I think he is keen to see how our squad shapes up over the summer and if we will indeed be playing in the CL next year. Quite frankly I don't blame him. From the POV of our club, it is high time some change cometh that would allow a manager to take the reins and form the team he would want to go winning in the coming season. Instead we have a board that cannot see beyond their sustainable game plan while building up even larger cash reserves ( for what though one wonders ) and a manager who has bought into their grand plan while nurturing his own which for years has come up short. Someone at N5 please get a grip. While not a fan of the man, can anyone see SAF being so distracted? Rooney made noises about wanting out and SAF got in there and sealed the deal. Job Done....something our management don't tend to do in N5.
I am worried that he won't re-sign now. He's a professional, he wants to win trophies, and who could blame him? I think it's time we start checking the market, see if we could get a good replacement for about 30 million.
