I dont think nasri or any of the others are like this deal. RVP is very different to Nasri. If you like, he has Arsenal DNA.

I think that if his agent did this, the agent will be fired.

If man city did this they just lost any chance of signing him.

Most likely the Times did this and unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do.

Standards at the Times have dropped so much, very sad.

Yes. And Adebayour, Nasri, Toure and Clichy have all proved that.

:) This is not ****e, this is thuth, and you know it mate. The TRUTH that so many ManCity fans do not want to know. So enjoy your moment of "glory", but deep down you know it - ManCity is not a proper football club as it used to be, when you had huge respect even when you struggled, now you are no more than a commercial vehicle for filthy rich Arab sheikhs. This is the truth mate.

Yup. Cant believe we got £25m for nasri when he only had 1 year left on his deal <yikes> The guy was poor for us except for 6 months. And that was when he wanted a new deal. A complete mercenary and a guy who we shouldnt of bought for £15m. Citeh bailed us out with £25m though <laugh> Adebayoor and toure the same.

Ade was never great and for £25m again <laugh> Completely mugged them there

Toure was worse since his malaria. Lost his pace. £17m was it for him? For a centre back. Again laughable.

City have paid for the Emirites stadium. Their owners tried to invest in city but instead they invested in arsenal. they have put us into a fantastic position with the biggest cash cow in world football (our ground) and now its almost paid off we can really start to dominate football like man utd.

Nasri was pointless again today. A city fan was in tears after Swansea scored. Dear oh dear. United know how to win titles and therefore they have the edge in the title race, imo.

Do you honestly think there is a single city fan that doesn't know without the money we would still be a mid table club as we were for many years?

We know the money has got us where we are today and we are enjoying every minute of it, the monopoly at the top has finally been broken, why would anyone want to be back where we were before, no CL no Cup no hope of competing with the top teams.

I think for a change he had a better game than Silva who was piss poor today.

  10. At the moment you should be more concerned about this year - as there is a good chance City, despite spending obscene amounts of money, will win nothing. Most of the football world is hopeful that will happen.

I dont join in with teh city bashing. Its boring. I actually find it excited that small clubs like city and chavski can compete with the big boys. Stops things being dull. However, I think your owners have done a bad job. Your lucky to have mancini but your owners should of invested for the long term rather than just wasting millions/billions.

Wenger has done more for us than your owners have done with a billion pounds. Arsene has built our club into a financial juggernaut like fergie did at manure. Its better to build gradually and organically than to do what you and the chavs did.

I respect city fans and I like the fact you are a force now. But it is bad for your club imo. There are better and more intellgent ways to build a club up

I always find it amusing that fans of other clubs say if we do not win the PL this year in some way we have failed, the owners are in this long term and have said the same. if we finish second this season we will higher than we were last season, we are still in the running for a cup and with 10 games left to play and only one point adrift are still in the running to take the PL title.

I think you will find most teams fans are glad we have broken the monopoly and want us or any other team to finish top and knock baconface off his perch.

I certainly do. Our league is in danger of becoming the spl (just celtic now) in terms of titles won. Manure have won such a ridiculous % of titles. I really dont understand how they do it. Of course it will be the end of an era when fergie, scholes and giggs finally quit and f off. But what really needs to happen is for them to have a bad few years and then teams wont feel beaten before they take the field.

So its ok for the monopoly to take the lions share of the PL money and tens of millions for playing in the CL allowing them to bolster their squads and keep them in that position but not ok for a mid table club to get investment and join the monopoly.

Podolski would disagree with that... I don't think RVP is driven by money tbf. He is good enough to get into any club in the world right now and Money City will not be one of them. All the examples you mentioned left for reasons of money: Nasri, Clichy Adebayor, and Cole to Chelsea. All disreputable players in their own right in spite of what they say. But let's wait until the end of the season eh? That's when RVP said he would be willing to discuss contract negotiations (unless he is like Ashley Cole <doh> ) and that's what we should wait to see. I have said in the past if RVP leaves for a better side to win trophies then I would not begrudge him that. He has too much quality to be deprived of it and I would wish him all the best should he decide to depart. However he owes the club as we have stood by him all through his injury plagued years. He must take this into consideration.

It's no different. Man utd just happened to dominate at a time of globalisation (in football with the internet and satelitte tv).

I knew that was going to be the answer, I got exactly the same answer from the United fans when we had this discussion.

If there was no prize money for playing in the PL and CL so in effect we were all playing on a level playing field would the monopoly have ever existed ?
