My old man was a nightmare for not shopping around and probably paid over the odds for all of his insurance needs. He mistakenly believed his loyalty to a provider would get him a better service.
Santander tried to put up my house insurance by over £400 once. ****ed them off double quick.

There was a time when businesses valued loyalty in both their customers and their staff. Imo most have forfeited any right to expect it from either.

I came back from Thailand mate, 3 years ago to this week...Not a pot to piss in..Nothing...Not even a tenner.

I've built it all back up, and found many things difficult and strange since i went away.

Now my little pad is mine, it's starting to feel like me...Got a bit to go, but nearly there.

It's all through hard work, yes i enjoy a beer, but never let that you think it stops my goals.
Kudos to you mate, my son did that job for one year for Christien Salveson instead of taking a gap year. He’s a big strong fit bugger, worked in the cold stores also. He used to come home wrecked especially in the run up To Xmas.

I wouldn't mind so much if the price rise was also reflected for new customers. That's the thing that's doubly ****ish about it all, is the fckers will be offering new customers a ridiculously low offer. Same for renewals on mobile phone deals.

The problem is the system is so fcked now it can't change with one provider bucking the trend because if they tried to they'd just be rinsed by the others. So either all need to have a rethink as an industry wide thing or it just carries on. With insurance, it's all well and good going for the cheapest deal elsewhere but I do wonder if I needed to claim would the fckers honour it? I've never had to find out but I expect there'll be some small print which allows them to keep the price cheap and not have to pay out on certain conditions.

I worked in a call centre for years, mate. The process is always the same. Ring up and ask to be put on offer you seen, they’ll tell you it’s for new customers only. At that point you tell them you’ll cancel your subscription so they’ll then offer you that new customer deal to stay. At this point you still refuse stating you want to shop around and you aren’t happy with the service. They’ll book you a disconnection for 30 days time and end the call. Before the 30 days has elapsed they’ll have a back office team to call you and try save you one last time and at this point you can negotiate with them and get a better deal than what the new customers are being offered.

You just have to play the game.

I've heard this and I'm sure it works but I'm a lazy git <laugh>

But listen to this, about 2 years ago I had a number of contracts (kids, mine, broadband etc) with EE and one was up for renewal, so I phoned up for a deal and they said it was valid and because of all my accounts they'd waive some £10 charge and hold the deal for me until I went into a store to check out the new phone.

That weekend I went into EE store in Trafford Centre, the guy looks up my account and tells the rate is there but with a £10 charge. I tell him that was waived. Tbf the bloke agrees it should be, but because the deal was only held for so many days it's now on new terms which happen to have this £10 fee. He's good as gold and says we'll call them from the store and once I speak to them they'll definitely waive the fee. We call from there and they would not fcking budge this time.

I reminded the person at the other end of the phone of all my accounts and they just would not budge. So I explained to him that over the course of the next couple of years I would move every EE account elsewhere. Two years later all I have is the broadband which will expire in a few months and I'm going to fck them off completely. Bunch of utter ****s.
