Ron is the one who reminds you of your mother...you don't want the sex any more, but she is safer and will take good care of you.

Of course. When we were linked with Ron I though "oh hello..." and life has been great since. How could any of us not love what he has brought and the way we are playing. We even get to look back at last season's AMAZING season (let's not forget how good it was) and go "meh, the tactics were a bit samey"! Happy daze

I was so desperate to get Koeman...we would not only get a good manager, but it would demonstrate that the board would spend. You couldn't attract Koeman and buy old has been players or be on the verge of selling the club. It was very depressing when the usual range of available managers was being suggested. Koeman's arrival was a demonstration of intent.

Interesting that the author should mention the absolute antithesis of Savage in Graeme Le Saux. If ever there was a pundit who you know has carefully considered his opinion, then it is him. You can trust his opinion to carry some weight. I wouldn't trust Savage's opinion any longer than took for the noise to die away after he gave it. However, if punditry was about truth, then we'd all be on the edge of our seats waiting for the next Le Saux words of wisdom. Instead, possibly sadly, it's mostly about entertainment. For example, last night on MOTD2, I thought Jason Roberts made the programme worth watching. I like him. He gets excited, talks fast and loud, and has a good measure of accuracy. He's also not far from a smile. An entertainer.

Same here, hearing the names of the same half dozen managers who seem to go around clubs like a carousel was depressing for me. Even with his mixed record i was so much more excited to think of Koeman (or Yakin) as our manager then Pulis, McClaren et al

Thanks for posting those as so many people seem to think that the media ignore us...they don't, but we are not the centre of the universe..they will talk about big news items (like Rooney's sending off).

JWP must be so glad to be interviewed again...must have withdrawal symptoms. Good luck with the op, James.

My issue is not that we aren't covered, it's the style of coverage. For example, we have not had one comment on the style of football we are playing this year during our MOTD coverage. This is because they are only interested in the story of our collapse and recovery, ignoring the actual football facts.

In other words, we have recieved only football gossip and no football punditry.

    No problem, Fran.

As to the big news item, Rooney's sending off - it was the headline talking point on practically every football programme I watched or listened to. I thought they'd talked it to death by MOTD2, but no, they beat it some more.
I'd love to know how many football fans were actually fascinated by the news item. I'm willing to bet that, given the opportunity, they'd have rather heard about something else.

I, for one, am happy we are not getting the coverage. The longer we can slip in under the radar the better. Everyone seems to raise their game against Man Utd for example. I prefer it when the opposition believe we are in a false position and under-estimate us.
