I got a feeling Nuts has this one right. I don't know how fit and sharp he is these days, but he's one of the best finishers I've seen in the PL, and if retains a lot of that he'd be one pensioner who could do a good job for us.
Sorry NUTS, I had a funny joke all lined up there but my lack of any meaningful Computer knowledge has put paid to that! Its like the time I was banned there recently. I had the funniest wind-up in store. All thought out and ready to put into effect. But alas, my limited technical ability meant I couldn't go ahead with it. There must have been an IP block on me or something, as any attempts to create a new, bogus account failed. A great pity as it would have been good. Ah well, I'll just stick to what I know. (Which isn't f*****g much! )
He played for LA Galaxy last night. Set up one, scored the other two (one penalty). I believe he is the captain. "Robbie Keane set up Landon Donovan's 132nd MLS regular-season goal, converted a penalty kick, and then scored on a volley as LA dominated their California Clasico rivals, 3-0, on a muggy evening at the sold-out StubHub Center. Keane has 12 goals this season and seven in the past five games, including a pair in the CONCACAF Champions League victory over Cartagines a week and a half ago." Is this really a man who wants to come back to the championship?
Yeah. Ee's 'aving a lovely 'oliday in the sun with the 'Ollywood Stars. Why the hell would he want to come play in our mud league?
I have a lot of respect for him. Always shows up for his country and gives 100%. He is in the right place now though.
I honestly don't think that it's going to happen, but I'd take him on a short term or PAYP contract as cover, for sure. The guys scored 60 goals at international level, including scoring tonight. Sixty. As I say though, can't see it happening. On a side note, I reckon that Michael Owen could have gotten somewhere near that total for England, if only he hadn't been so overplayed by Liverpool at such an early age, and then gotten injured. Shame really.
