I didn't think you were "having a pop" at CH, redruth. But you implied that CH might want to make a signing that would be so unreasonable that DM would need to veto it. I just don't think CH would suggest anything of that sort. You also imply that, without DM keeping him in check, CH would turn into a Mark Hughes clone when it comes to signings. Again I think that's way off the mark. Yes, we trust DM, but I also trust CH!
Some valid points on both sides here. I think we should save the big buy for the summer I'm sure Hughton has a couple of forwards his looking at, l'd rather us do our homework and get the perfect. If we do buy the forwards during the summer I ideally want someone who is going to be able to form a partnership with Holt or become his successor, not a player a year or two younger then him. It's going to be a challenge with whatever happens and we all have our concerns, but I have faith that Hughton will bring in the right player in January and hopefully a special buy over the summer, someone who will become a club legend.
