Robbie Keane rumours he is coming here<laugh> Keane and lescott combined age is 75 :headbang::headbang::headbang:

Just need N'Zogbia back to complete the set.

In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if Keane had a similar impact to Defoe, he's only a couple of years older and I bet he's kept himself in great shape. I'd actually be happy with this considering our financial situation. He's on 2 goals in 3 games in America so he's still dangerous.

Keane would have been superb (about a decade ago).

One of the longest saga's in history.

All this about Lescott and Keane just makes us the laughing stock of the Premier league. Its as if the club has simply given up.......so sad.
Yeah, I get that impression too.

I think, in July, we'll be in the Championship, without Moyes. We wont have Pickford or Defoe, and Ellis Short will still be scratching about looking for somebody to buy us, while at the same time, refusing to put his hand in his pocket.

Nobody can say this hasn't been coming for several years. My big worry is that it could be 10 years, or more, before we return.

I sometimes get accused of being negative on here, but I just say it as I see it and right now SAFC are in a mess and that mess has been created from the top. I head up a sizable business here in Abu Dhabi, if that business performed at such a substandard level as currently Sunderland are..then I would be sacked and I could have no complaints. I agree with your assessment about the future 83....I am genuinely worried about the future of the club, if/when we are relegated the whole dynamic of the football club changes an in our case it won't be for the good that's for sure.

The debt is a massive worry for me. We may have very good players for the Championship. We even have some fantastic youth players that I believe could perform very well in that league. We just don't know what will happen. We could sell the majority to cover our debts. A club in disarray will always struggle to be competitive on the pitch.

Keeping Moyes is absolutely key to us from hopefully not imploding. We need somebody to steady the ship and to get the players playing. It's going to be a lottery with a new manager and that's when the club could self destruct even more.

We need stability.

I'd rather save us the embarrassment of signings like Keane and Lescott. Surely the youth players we have must be better than them two.[/QUOTEhonneyman was poor yesterday
Look right out of his depth

I know us signing Keane is a running joke on here and it's probably no more true than any of the other rumours so bullshit in other words.

However is nobody going to entertain the possibility that he'd be a decent signing? He's a similar player to Defoe with a comparable record and most people on here wouldn't sell Defoe for anything less than 30 mil. Ok so he's two years older but that's not much if he's in shape and he's still banging the goals in.

Robbie Keane and Joelean Lescott would fit into our squad like a hand in an old glove, a desperate move in truly desperate times.
How our wonderful club have disintegrated to this level has been done to death on here in numerous threads but although I'm convinced were going to get out of this predicament I'm also fully aware we could be staring into a very black hole without a suitable plan for escaping IF we fall in. Keeping positive is really difficult when you follow the lads but what else can we do.

It could work....then again it might not, but, both him and Lescott getting a contract out of Sunderland strikes me as a last decent pay day for some "has been" players...do we really need to do this??
