We suppose to have two very good goalkeepers , some could even claim the best pair in the premier league as on paper. Sadly Green has made his share of mistakes already and Cesar cant be too happy about swansea match or yesterdays saints goal either. That is a fact no matter how great he has played otherwise this season. Now Green played very well yesterday , and if Cesar isnt in full fitness then its more than sensible to let Green continue.
Has there been any correlation between Cesar's dip in form and his appearance for Brazil vs England? Just a thought! He was desperate for a recall, and his initial drop in standards a few years ago was due to a clanger in a game for Brazil apparently. Perhaps he was motivated/invigorated during the first half of the season by the prospect of reclaiming his place in the national side- then when he got it, and it didn't meet his expectations, his confidence was knocked? Who knows, i'm 90% sure that's probably bollox!
Seriously rate ceasar. he's got us more points this season than he has cost us. the guy has been doing it for years & is probably best shout for player of the season. He's had a couple of bad games, so rest him. he'll come back as a star again. not like he hasnt done it before. Best signing MH made by a country mile!
when we wanted him to come good like saturday he failed, 1st & 2nd goals why oh why didn't he come for that ball its was looped in & he could have knock agbon out of the way & we would have gone in 1 up & don't think we would have lost, soooooooooooo gutted about result.
Very odd that first goal as the cross was a looper , hit and hope and bread and butter for any keeper. The third of course was a complete calamity but no one is perfect and I wouldn't swap our two keepers for anyone else. We have to move on but the good news is that the hurt means just that ... We are simply playing very well and showing the form at last of a top ten team. It hurts because we all know we shouldn't have lost but most wished for a open game and have a go ... these types of games can go either way.
Both out 'top class' keepers have had their moments, good and bad through the season so I think it is quite difficult to say who is the better. Cesar on Saturday certainly had a day to forget. Should have done better for the all the goals and what was he doing for the third, diving OFF the pitch!
