The other thing to note is for all the praise for Elliott allegedly being vocal in the dressing room, which is commendable, that is something we know Tim Krul has always been.

Have to say, I never rated him and was only too keen to see him depart back to the lower leagues - where I thought his 'talents' were best suited. Must say, since he's come in this season he's been excellent. From thinking he's just a fat clogger, to thinking he's actually a very competent and dare I say it, premier league quality keeper. At least a back up premier league keeper. I've also been extremely impressed with the interviews he's given. He comes across very well and manages to speak without rolling out tired cliches. Fair play to the guy, he's had a real turn around in fortunes at our club and as pouchy says, appears to have discovered a new found confidence in his own ability.
Very refreshing to see someone who previously didn't like the lad now admitting they had been harsh and giving credit where it's due. So many are far too quick to get on the backs of certain players and give them dogs abuse, even getting on their backs at home games instead of supporting those players to improve, gain confidence and play above themselves. Elliot comes into this category to a large extent so I think quite a few should be eating a bit of humble pie at the moment, and being honest enough to admit it

Good post <ok>

I think it is fair for fans to say someone is **** when they are **** to be honest. Elliot was and therefore deserved the stick he was getting. Bear in mind this never transferred to the actual games. He isn't sitting at night reading the forums, questioning himself. He has just improved. It is fair to point that out.

Perhaps a small amount of humble pie because many just wrote him off (including myself). Again understandable as he looked so far off the level required.

He actually looks to me like the sort of boring person who might be reading this forum - are you sure he is not Less Hope than Neville?

As mush as I am often required to 'save' the day on here and show that competitions can be run with integrity, or that mafia games can have the rules fully explained, alas I have to deny being the mighty Rob Elliot.
