    SHOLING v Torquay Utd
The Gulls are three divisions above the hosts, plying their trade in the National League Premier Division.
They have reached the Fourth Round Proper on seven occasions; the most recent being 2010-11
Last season they went out in the First Round Proper, going down 1-0 at Maidstone Utd

Bath City v HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE
This tie will have a league match feel to it, with both sides being in National league South
The Romans have reached the Third Round Proper on six occasions. They have twice taken that tie to a replay, most recently in 1993-94, against Stoke City.
Last season they lost 4-2 away to Billericay Town in the Third Qualifying Round

Ties are due to be played on the week-end of Saturday 24th October

So today's the day when we find out which sides make it to the First Round Proper.

    The draw is on Monday.

    Today's results:

    SHOLING 0-2 Torquay Utd

Bath City 0-3 HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE

As previously mentioned I will not be around for the First Round draw but will be back online from Wednesday 4th November, when we will add the third and final path on the Road to Wembley, as POMPEY join the fray on the 'Jim Bowen' path

Good draw for Ipswich, that. What a shame there’ll be no fans

Try to make the 3rd round lads, would be great to beat you 4-0 again <ok>

In the 1st round draw, Pompey are away to Ipswich Town (and Oli Hawkins). We should have ex-Ipswich striker Ellis Harrison back after his hamstring injury to face his old team !

    ROUND ONE:

Ipswich Town v POMPEY - Saturday at 15:00
The Tractor Boys are two points and five places above Pompey in League One
They have lifted the cup on one occasion; 1978, when they beat Arsenal 1-0.
Last season they went out in Round Three, with a 1-0 defeat at Accrington.

TORQUAY UTD v Crawley Town - Sunday at 12:45
The Red Devils are currently 8th in League Two, a division above the National League leaders.
They reached the Fifth Round in 2010-11 (The season they won the Conference) and again the following year.
Last season they went out in the First Round, going down 2-6 at home to Southend Utd

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE v Cray Valley Paper Mills - Sunday at 12:45
Plying their trade in the Isthmian League South East Division (Two levels below The Hawks), The Millers are the lowest ranked side still in the competition. However, they should not be underestimated, having won away to National League Maidenhead Utd in the Fourth Qualifying Round. This is one of four all-non-league ties.
This is their best ever Cup run and first appearance in the First Round Proper.
Last season they went out in the Preliminary Round, going down 0-2 at home to Whyteleafe

    Result:

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE 1-0 Cray Valley Paper Mills

TORQUAY UTD were poised for a 'cupset' only for Crawley to equalise in the 14th minute of stoppage time!

The draw for Round TWO has been made, with fixtures to be played on the week-end of 28th November.
    https://www.thefa.com/news/2020/nov/09/emirates-fa-cup-second-round-proper-draw-091120

    POMPEY v King's Lynn Town
The Linnets were re-formed in 2010, after the original King's Lynn FC went into liquidation.
They have quickly climbed the pyramid and won promotion to the National league at the end of last season having been declared champions of National League North when the season was abandoned
This is the best cup run of the new club, although the original King's Lynn FC reached the Third Round in 1961-62.
Last season they went out in the Fourth Qualifying Round, going down 1-0 at Nantwich Town.

    Marine v HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE
The Mariners are in the Northern Premier League Division One North West, which, like the Hawks' previous opponents, is two levels below. The host will be buoyant, having just knocked out Colchester Utd in Round One.
They have reached Round Three once, in 1992-93
Last season they lost 1-2 at home to Dunston in the 2nd Qualifying Round

CRAWLEY TOWN won't know their opponents until a couple of days before kick off. They will be away to either Barrow or AFC Wimbledon, who meet at Holker Street on Thursday 26th November.

Sweet. I always love a non-league opponent. Shame it's not away, and if we could attend, I'd probably try to get tickets.
