Hi Everyone, my very first post. I have been watching the forum for a while and have supported Saints for many years,(now in Family Centre with son and grandson). Just gotta be realistic. MP was very good for us but had flaws, as noted in several others' posts. However, when someone feels that circumstances have changed (i.e. NC leaving) and an apparently higher profile appointment comes up, and you are being head-hunted, it's pretty likely that no amount of persuasion to do otherwise will have much effect. The board appear to have played by the rules, perhaps THFC did as well. We will never know; the only thing left is to march forward, heads held high and recruit one o'them there managers queueing up to join us!
Welcome, good first post. I question slightly how much Pochettino's day-to-day job changed with the changes at boardroom level, but it doesn't particularly surprise me that he would be interested in the Spurs job. Let's see just how good a replacement we get. After all this talk they'd better make it a good one!
What would you have him say? He is doing his job we have all wanted the club to be more open and when they start to be, you accuse him of not saying the right things. I presume you to mean not the things you wanted to hear him say perhaps. He surely is just being as positive as he can be under the circumstances.
Welcome DR SAINT nice to have you aboard. If you really are a DR one or two on here could do with some help....
Thanks for the welcome! Not that sort of dr, I'm afraid ! I'd really like to know how to change my name into sentence case- looks very pompous and 'shouty' as it is.
Firstly me personally is greatful that we didn't have the debacle we had when Hoddle moved, at least he had the decency to move at the end of the season. Poch wanted to go in jan that's fairly obvious, and from moment I'm sure Reed has been around Europe scouting various managers knowing that we were to be in this position, some are in some are out some have been added but I'm sure he/them are pretty sure that they know whom they want. It all really adds up Spuds didn't want to commit too much, so Sherwood is installed( surely they didn't think Van gaal was interested) and so Poch comes into the equation but wants to move at the end hence delayed signing of contract(which must have been offered jan time or near). But heyho move on look to the future new start new beginning.
That interview was difficult to listen to. A load of waffle really. Some things are positive, but he says things in 40 words which could be said in 5.
